Left work at 2:30pm at went home to get our stuff. Picked Myla up then back to Clayton to pick Bec up at work. We then headed to Kirkstone to finally get Bec to catch up on Stony Cove Pike one I did alone after Red Screes when the kids didn’t come for a weekend. We stopped at the mushroom services for a Greggs pasty, drink and fuel and cracked on. We parked at Kirkstone Pass and headed up St. Ravens Edge. Amazing views down to Ambleside and Windermere with Red Screes dominating the views. From Ravens summit we just followed the wall to the summit of Stony Cove. Went to all 3 main cairns. Slow going with Myla tonight but was still amazing and peaceful up there in the evening. Headed home to drink a Mars Milkshake eat chewits in bed watching Duel Survival.Scotty 2 Hotty17/05/2018

Didn't realise there was a car park at Hartsop (drive as far as you can to the end of the village, donations to the Patterdale School) so parked at the Cow Bridge car park on the A592. Up to Hartsop Dodd (steep) and then Stony Cove Pike. Great views of Windermere and Morecombe Bay today. Note, the summit is on the West side of the wall, not where the cairn is. Across to Thornwaite Crag and then along the ridge to Gray Crag. Note, the summit is just South of the Wall, not at the summit.tsharp06/09/2015

From Wansfell. Unexciting route but enlivened by the weather. A bank of cloud was breaking over Kirkstone Pass and there was snow on the ground high up. By St Sunday Edge it was sunny, and sitting on the top of Caudale Moor's S. ridge it was pleasant, out of the cold N wind.Went down the S ridge- very fine and no one else about, though there was a constant procession going over the Ill Bell skyline. Finished the day with Troutbeck Tongue- dull up,giving a lovely way down to Troutbeck. I'd been on Caudale Moor, always approaching from the N., twice previously.pwheeler13/02/2010
