A wander in a pair of Walshes on a Saturday morning - just like the old days, except I could run faster, further and on the first Saturday in August I would have been racing at Borrowdale. Still, this is better than the alternative! Ascent 620.IWC03/08/2019

Parked near The Barn cafe and walked up through Rivington terraced gardens to Rivington Pike then 'on the needle' through drizzle and thick clag to the summit. Walked past all the masts sites then back to the boundary point (county top) before retracing our steps. Cloud lifted a bit on the descent. With LF.Skip16/09/2018

Ascent 598. MTB meander on recently cut fire-breaks. Footpaths all open again.IWC08/08/2018
Ascent 597. Monday run, footpaths still closed.IWC06/08/2018
Ascent 596. First since the fires and there is a widespread covering of new grass almost everywhere. The fire breaks will take longer to 'recover' but hopefully by this time next year they will be green too. Police tape has been ripped away but many kissing gates are still fixed shut. Wouldn't be a surprise if they remain like because United Utilities is not a welcoming land owner.IWC30/07/2018
