Parked at Timberbrook car park (free). A cut through at the eastern end of the car park takes you onto the road and a subsequent flight of steps to the Gritstone Trail and the top. Wonderful evening views with the setting sun. Descended on the shared trail to the SW to rejoin the GT. Solo. Thursday night must be the mountain bike club night on the hill. Not sure why people feel the need to carve their names and visit date into the rocks at the top. | richard69 | 13/07/2023 |

Climbed on the second day walking the Gritstone trail, starting at the village of Bottom of the Oven I made my way through a moody Macclesfield forest and then navigated through fields to get to Teggs nose country park where I rejoined the trail. The Cloud is on the Gritstone trail and there was a diversion in place from where the map indicated the line of ascent began. It was raining but I could still see the railway viaduct and the slopes were covered in bilberry with the outcrops gleaming. This day I covered around 29 miles, probably the longest walk I have ever done. When I eventually got to Congleton and found the accommodation i was so tired I didnt even eat. The next day the sun came out! | Dazingdale | 03/06/2012 |
