Revisit with Chris.Peterb29/06/2023
With Peterb. Started at the usual place near The Hollies then farm track east of hill until we met a herd of cattle. Struck up the heather/long grass until we reached summit trig and cairn. Returned via more direct route back to car.bowlesy29/06/2023
Before an orienteering event and did some more later. Camping near Bishop's Castle.davechaffey28/05/2023
Parked in grass/mud triangle 329938. Came in from south, road dreadful. Nice walk up grass, parallel to the track, then track up through heather. Road out to west was about a foot deep in mud and water to start with.iangalbraith28/11/2022
Day 3 of a 5 day winter backpack around the Shropshire hills. A truly wet day and the rain started in earnest when I climbed to the summit. Some views but too wet and windy to linger for too long.morgs4mountains21/11/2022
With Lesley. Parked south, small triangle 330935. Clockwise to col, over to Cefn Gunthley and return, good track to summit followed by flies and eating lots of bilberries. Great views. Continued clockwise around hill, gate through Upper Bent farmyard.Nick Canute24/08/2022
From Triangle on minor roadLongwojo19/08/2022
Second ascent. Road very rough (no tarmac/deep ruts) between the Hollies and the information board shown on the OS map. Suggest approaching by car from the south.PeteF11/06/2022
Parked at SO 33029 93531 where there is a flat space off the road Walked up the northern side of the stream then across to SO 33582 93866 where there is a path through the heather to the topbenwloudon21/02/2022
Parked at triangle in narrow lane 330935.Followed track north to col at 353m. Quick ascent of Cefn Guntly then ascended Heath Mynd over pathless NW flank. Easy going at first, but more heather higher up. A clear path from the summit heading south brought me back to my car. 2.4 miles 51 minutes.CXB22/10/2021
from 33028 93519 and then up the West track. NNE at the information sign and then directly up. I followed the atv track from the summit to return.Peterb08/10/2021
Parked on triangle at SO 33028 93519 as others. Followed track to W and approached summit from N along track. Great views across to Wales in a lovely area. With Felix. About 170m ascent.RoguePulsar18/09/2021
Straight grassy path near the top onto a rough track straight to the summit we saw two red kites at the top the top also has a cairn went with Dad.speedyclimber18/09/2021
Parked on the small grass area at SO 3303 9353, which I reached via Heath Mynd farm. I would NOT recommend this as the road gets pretty bad - much better to access the parking spot from the S. For the ascent I followed the advice of prwild below and approached the summit from the N, which worked well.paulhilder22/08/2021
Parked in small area on Linley hill , 350 934 -thanks google maps. Walked south on road, turned right and right again, then politely stopped by land owner and given alternate route! Walked further along road past huge mansions and their lawns before public footpath across field. 34391 92610. Followed nose through tracks, 33988, 92759. past woods to find wind turbine mentioned by others 33246, 93104 , thanks . Up path to circle of trees and then google maps satellite view directed us straight to sheep track. Negotiated gorse to summit and trig point. Unable to see sheep track from 10 meters away yet google can see it from space! 33558, 93858 Thanks again google .Hippy7716/08/2021
Space for 1 car by the wind turbine (note the road to the farm to the west that permits use of the ATV trail from the north is closed). So either park at the triangle and walk up or by the wind turbine and follow the ATV track from the south. Weather very threatening so quick zip to the top and back. Truly magnificent views across to Wales and a good cairn too by the trig. Zero tree cover so one to ascend in good weather!jamiequackers07/08/2021

from south easy park just past gate 3303 9352 up west of stream return east good hillunderhill22/06/2021
To be clear, approaching from the north on the lane that deteriorates to a muddy track, the triangle is after the 5-bar gate. Simple from there. I had turned and parked on the contoured approach to an obviously hardly used gate after the piggery but before The Hollieshenryfm30/05/2021
1 x parking above road gate on triangle at SO330935. NNE up track to 1st bwlch at SO333946, then vehicular track to 2nd bwlch at SO337944, then ATV track to top. Returned to find my car covered in saliva and snot from a surrounding herd of about a dozen cows with Who? Me? faces who had been licking the road salt off of it.Isbjorn17/04/2021
Parked nr The Hollies on poor road. More or less straight up from info board. Followed path S through heather for descent.squeegs24/10/2020
Easy ascent by walking round to the col to the North and following the track up. Less successful following the path down to the South and trying to cut back down the slope.prwild23/08/2020
Linked with Corndon Hill; harder than I expected as footpaths marked on the OS map are somewhat vague in JulyRockdoctor24/07/2020
Parked at triangle on road to SW. easy up and down. Cloud right at top.KC17/03/2020
then on to StiperstonesFlatfield05/03/2020
From lane near Lindley Hall - across field to old Oak - Through newly planted woodland the hulks of old dead Oaks still punctuating the landscape, the along the concessionary path to the Aero Generator and out onto access land. Headed to the tree plantation that identifies this hill from afar. Mist swirling around us as we reach the summit and trig. Descend north side then circle / return along the west flank.briandavies14/10/2019
from NindIanHHill01/06/2019
Limited parking near The Hollies to the west..short up and down, easy grass gives way to thick heather/moss higher upN.Morters05/04/2019
Solo. Up narrow road from the south to park at junction at SO330935. Solo. Directly up hillside to ground by cairn, which is the highest point, as well as the nearby trig point.pwbellarby07/03/2019
4/5 from Linley Hill. Slightly challenging or at least long navigation. Approached from track to South. Met by many stubborn looking bullocks. Decided that straight through them was the quicker way up. Bit foggy on top. Had a cup of Earl grey in the small shelter. A nice moment as I was in a rush to meet friends at the stiperstones Inn.tumpawumpa28/12/2018
From sw up stream, down due w and along path. Low mist, no visibility. Warm, still. Rounsfell27/12/2018
Steeply up from grass triangle. 5 red kites hanging in the wind. also one buzzard. nice views all round.gettingonabit02/10/2018
Parked on green triangle as some others then up bridleway before The Hollies then heather bash to top but came down to north on quad track and picked up same route in higher up . Fantastic views . Lots of cows roaming who had to be shooed away twice .Mark Sims14/09/2018
From lane junction to SW. Wet but conditions added to the realism, one of the hills in the distance (Stiperstones?)looking a little bit like Beinn a' Chaolais. On to Cefn Gunthly.Wycombe Wanderer06/09/2018
From gated road to SW. good tracks up through gorse, easy going through moorland, but much harder through heather to reach top. Good ATV track down to north and col with Cefn Gunthly which also ascended.PeterD18/08/2018
Day collecting Shropshire Marilyns, 7 in total.tomd409/08/2018
Parked on upper part of triangle after speaking to landowner (lovely lady). I'm pleased I met her because it felt like I was almost trespassing. Not a popular walking area I suspect. Steep climb up in thigh- deep heather. Summit has large cairn.Dangerous Dave08/08/2018
6/7 Marilyn day. Ascent of Heath Mynd from the south. 2.5km taking 45 minutes. (S)silveracorn_alan07/08/2018

8/12M parked where 2 minor roads meet on triangle of grass.robertphillips19/10/2017
From Cefn Gunthly straightforward descent and then up onto top. Absolute silence, not even birds singing, and great views all round. Three hills done (inc Black Rhadley) and only saw two other people all day. Stiperstones looked busy though!Stuzinho02/09/2017
Trig, cairn and windshelter on top, with lovely purple heather around. Windy and showery. N/S ridge traverse. Second visitDenise 19/08/2017

Parked at end of lane opposite Pitchords, walked up lane to information board at junction and stream at 330 935, says Heath Mynd is all open access land so made a beeline to top, returned via faint path heading south off top making easier waking out of heather.dgresty15/03/2017

From grass triangle to SW & then more or less straight up the hillside with Shaky. Decent viewpoint but uninspiring walk up.NotReallyABagger24/09/2016
Parked at SO329935 on grass triangle beyond the gate. Took what appears to be the standard route, taking in Cefn Gunthy afterwards.Herbert Anchovy22/09/2016
Same route as others from SW. Fairly obvious path at least to start. Great panoramic views. Probably not one most people climb - they're missing out!twg2709/07/2016

2/5. Solo. Parked on grassy triangle and headed straight for the summit. Steep grass slopes which turned heather about half way up. Cold but good weather otherwise.mike.hoult25/02/2016
Climbed using bus service 553, from bus stop at Llan turn. Stupidly zigzagged up the steep west face, but descent on path from the north much easier. Excellent Bronze Age cairn on the summit, although it has been messed about with. Terrific panoramic views taking in Malverns, Herefordshire, Radnor Forest, poss Drygarn Fawr(?), Pumlumon, Corndon Hill, Stiperstones and Long Mynd.thesweetcheat16/01/2016
From the track end to the SW at SO329938, ascending via the track then the W side before making a direct descent to the start point. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/heath-mynd-corndon-hill-and-caeliber.htmlGayle04/12/2015

Parked at GR330935. Good track and path to summit. Excellent view point. With SH and Pat.wombourne06/11/2015
There's a good track up to the top of Heath Mynd starting from the farm track at 338 935. Part of a mega circuit from Hope School, following tracks to Crows Nest Dingle, then to Castle Ring hill fort (it has to be seen, and is a fine view point). Then along the ridge to Stiperstones, via all the rocky knobbles, then to Heath Mynd, Corndon Hill and back past Mitchell's Fold along Stapeley Hill and minor roads. Watch out for insane, aggressive dogs at Little Cefn Farm and Corndon Farm (if you have problems with them, report the problem to Powys County Council).Gill10/10/2015

Last of my 10 shropshire Marilyns. Weather was amazing, lovely walkLaura.W04/06/2015
Parked on grassy triangle at SO 330 935, beyond Moreswood, and took the easy track above The Hollies until the turn towards Linley Big Wood, ascending Heath Mynd SSW from the col. Easy descent directly back to the parking triangle apart from gorse and a steep lip at the end. (5/5)Phreerunner18/03/2015

Parked just beyond the gate south east of The Hollies at a road junction, then ascended the North side of the hill where there is a path.mindlessflogger07/10/2013
From the triangle near Moreswood, about the only reasonable place to park near this Marilyn. There and back via the Cefn Gunthy col. There is a track worn in the heather up the N ridge. Fine views included a couple of thunderstorms as well as the hills.pwheeler29/07/2013
Clockwise route from SO 350934 via Linley to Heath Mynd, NE round the back of Black Rhadley Hill to The Rock, and back along the Shropshire Way over Linley Hill.milimana18/11/2012
Fairly easy stroll from the triangle park point just passed the gate with a sign that says no dogs, but this expired in 2010. Farm land so dogs still need to be on lead. Followed the bridleway up and then a reasonably well defined footpath to the top. Large plateau of heather nice views but a fairly boring walk.hmt100004/09/2012
Climbed from the SE. Not many tracks after a short while, but not too bad terrain over the heather. Views and weather were stunning. Completes the set of Shropshire Marilyns for me.Chingwakabungya09/08/2012
Parked at the triangular road junction. Followed the track up to the col below Cefn Gunthly and then the track that climbs towards the NE ridge. An overgrown path leads to the summit from this track.Sprog01/07/2012
CUHWC Stiperstones Day Trip. The Bog - Stiperstones - Black Rhadley Hill - Heath Mynd (with some trespassing) - Cefn Gunthly - Corndon Hill - Mucklewick Hill - the Bog. Weather good. Not with the usual suspects today.AGWilliamson06/05/2012
CUHWC Stiperstones day trip, linear walk with Peter and Kerrie; Fishpool - Corndon Hill - Hyssington - Heath Mynd - Cefn Gunthly - Black Rhadley Hill - Stiperstones - The Bog. Lovely countryside, views towards Mid Wales, great scrambling on Devil's Chair.Mark Jackson06/05/2012
From Pitcholds, up the road to Lower Bent then up the south ridge to trig & cairn, fair pull through mixed heath, dry with mixed sun & cloud, descent to the north, found a sign saying no dogs, so good job it was just me & Minnie today, back to camp via Baapricorum20/03/2012

From track junction at 330938 (10:35) went directly to summit through thick bracken and bilberry. Went N along ridge to path and back via track. dbb13/06/2009
Nice walk up through bilberries (no bracken at the moment) - but hard to find the lane (the small track to SW is the one to go for) - and thanks to the farmer who pulled me out after my ill-advised turn on the triangle!woodse21/05/2009
