Parked for free in Weobley car park near to free toilets. Made a 6 mile walk going via the Castle mounds in both directions. Muddy fields, but normal fort his terrain, time of year and with the recent level of rainfall. Easy access to Trig point and hp. Solo. | gbeniston | 16/02/2024 |
Had good wander around the two potential summit areas (plus trig) - I think that the current HP is the correct one but there is no dense tree cover in December so recommend the tamperers pay a visit. | assynt_bob | 24/12/2023 |
Parked in a small layby by a gate on B4230, just S of Shoals Bank to the W of the hp. There seemed at least a permissive path straight up the hill to the start of the woods (usual fp circular disks on post too obsured by time) walking back up the road towards Shoals Bank and shown as the start of a track on the map. Muddy zigzag track in the woods to firstly trig and then the hp. Disturbed about a dozen deer around the hp. Very pleasant top at dusk. Solo | richard69 | 05/11/2023 |

Last bag of the year on the drive from the Brecons back to York. Started from the right of way on the road at Shoals Bank, but I wouldn’t recommend it, the parking is extremely sketchy. Followed the right of way steeply up the hillside; maybe a route best left for the drier months, as wet leaves on top of wet mud does not make for a relaxing ascent! | Rockdoctor | 31/12/2022 |
with Figgy. I will remember the fully laden apple tress in the small orchard next to the FP gate at start of walk from Shoals Bank. Wear trousers. | mazz | 16/10/2022 |
A very pleasant walk from Weobley on a lovely sunny afternoon. Up through Garnstone Park, quick visit to the eastern 285m top, then westwards along the track to the trig and summit. Back to the village the same way, other than using the lower path around the edge of the woodland which gives great views of the Radnor Forest hills. Quite a few folks out and about in the fields, but very quiet in the woods. | thesweetcheat | 24/09/2022 |
From gate to the north. Alternative summit and trig also visited. | Alan Caine | 14/06/2022 |
On bike from Hereford to Ledbury. Ascent from paths to North. Nice bluebells. | davechaffey | 30/04/2022 |
Very limited parking at start of fp so parked at more ample area half a mile south, up track over bw-gate turned left on track to join where fp comes up. Saw a kite. Pleasant woodland, arbitrary hp and no views, also visited trig. | Nick Canute | 04/04/2022 |
Parked in the layby by the gate on B4230 few hundred metres South of Shoals Bank, path arrow on gate. Across field to meet track then followed the footpath signs around track and up hill to summit (no feature except trees), then to trig. Made a 2.7 mile circuit out of it by taking the path north and then west and then back along road. | JulieB | 27/03/2022 |

Parked at end of lane at 416488. Followed PROW along track then through field. Stiles poor condition. Path contiunes through woods. USe the permissive path that continues straight to summit. Nice walk with views. Saw huge hawk at edge of woodland. Not a red kite or buzzard. | Pete West | 14/02/2022 |

Parked in the small layby by the gate a couple of hundred yards S of Shoals Bank. Visited the trig and the summit. I do like woodland trigs, though I realise that negates their original purpose. | paulhilder | 24/08/2021 |
Followed Jamie's route up | Stevooo | 29/07/2021 |

The B4230 southbound from the very picturesque village of Weobley finds you a farmers gate with space for a couple of cars, just south of the public footpath to the summit. Parked outside the gate, to find it's a public bridleway so followed that up. A perfect hill - the path is a gentle incline, cleared of pesky vines and brambles, and utterly peaceful apart from an inquisitive squirrel following me. Trig marker easily found, foliage provides little to no view, but a very beautiful place to visit - especially when combined with a visit into Weobley village itself. | jamiequackers | 19/07/2021 |
park 3887 4917 permissive path nw to main row then path to flat summit so wander around a bit then tp and return same way 45 mins | underhill | 28/06/2021 |
Pleasant walk from the end of the road at SO 4155 4877. HP a short way beyond the Trig point. No views due to the trees. | DanMaisieBex | 02/06/2021 |

Short walk from the junction of the B4230 and A480 - a bus stop on the 461 route from Hereford to Kington. | Mark Jackson | 17/04/2021 |
1 x grass parking adjacent to gate at SO415487 (No parking at Shoals Bank). Good track all the way through Garnstone Wood, followed by short walk away from forest track. | Isbjorn | 14/04/2021 |
Parked near gate and FP sign. Up to Shoals Bank then good track to trig and then back up to HP just of of ‘path’ | PeterD | 18/10/2020 |
B road parking, pasture, forest, top then back again. | Play2End | 10/10/2020 |

Better than expected in Sep, tracks and paths- even those to HP were passable to good. Overall, a pleasant bag from Shoals Bank. I actually started from the gate S on the road, tempted by the access waymarks there. Up by steep fp thru wood, little trods to HP, back via Trig Pt and gently slanting tracks. | pwheeler | 04/09/2020 |

Good parking in Weobley. About an hour up and an hour down. Lovely walk. | gettingonabit | 17/05/2020 |
Ascent from Shoals Bank after some time exploring the pretty village of Weobley. My daughter & partner accompanied me so had to endure a bit of grumbling as we worked our way up the overgrown brambly tracks! Redeemed myself by getting them to the beautiful bluebell carpeted woodland on top! My advice would be to complete this summit in April or early May so that you can get the benefit of the bluebell spectacle before the brambles take over the ascent trails through the woodland completely! | Gerry the Ranger | 16/05/2020 |

Not an easy ascent for me. The defra path led into a field with cattle and calves- all edges of the field secured by live electric fences. Eventually made it to the top which is very disappointing. A tough end to my day. | NormanW | 18/07/2019 |
