1/2 - Track through Leanachan Forest from Killiechonate (footbridge at 230766 not passable, so slippery river crossing), then followed ridge up to Stob Coire Easain, and then to summit. Low cloud and drizzle. | wychwood | 02/11/2021 |
Lunch stop in lovely weather on the tough Grey Corries round. | Mark Sims | 26/08/2021 |
I parked at the end of the private track south of Coire Choille Farm at 10am. I followed the track to the small Bothy then turned west up the valley lost the path before climbing the head wall to the col. up steep scree to Stob Ban. Then up and over Stob Choire Claurigh, the intervening tops which were still snow covered in places to Stob Coire an Laoigh. I thought about taking in Sgurr Mhic Choinnich but decided I was tired enough so followed the ridge down to the dam and the tram line to the car. Time taken 7 hours 40 minutes for 14.66 miles. | isabelle | 01/06/2021 |
Brilliant but tough day out with Brian Smith, weather great but hard under foot with boulders.
Grey Corries route | Kevthecat | 27/05/2021 |
Solo clockwise route covering the three Grey Corries (and all tops except Sgurr Choinnich Beag) - mix of clag and blue skies during the day, and a recent layer of wet/unstable snow on the ridge - not enough to make B3s and crampons worthwhile but careful footing in places made for a slow pace above 800m. 8h 30m from car back to car. | mproudfoot | 28/11/2020 |
Solo. Poor visibility, raining. Stob Ban & Grey Corries (Stob Choire Claurigh, Stob Coire an Laoigh, Sgurr Choinnich Mor) | Huwel | 21/10/2020 |
I had a very long but great day on the Grey Corries circuit, parking at the end of the private track south of Coire Choille Farm at 9am, then following the walkhighlands route up the horibly boggy slope to the 1st Munro Top of Stob Coire na Gaibhre (958m). I detoured off the route (spending an hour) to bag the 2nd Munro Top of Stob Coire na Ceannain (1123m). Then back to the main ridge and up the 1st Munro of Stob Choire Claurigh (1177m). Further along i crossed over the 3rd, 4th & 5th Munro Tops of Stob a' Choire Leith (1105m), Stob Coire Cath na Sine (1079m) & Caisteal (1106m). The ridge then leading to the 2nd Munro of Stob Coire an Laoigh (1117m), followed by the 6th Munro Top of Stob Coire Easain (1080m). From here madness took over and i continued over to the oulying 3rd Munro of Sgurr Choinnich Mor (1094m).

From where I had to reascend the 6th Munro Top (reaching the summit again at 18:00), to reach the 7th Munro Top of Beinn na Socaich (1005m).
From here ive never descende | chillyman8 | 23/09/2020 |

Full winter conditions, calm and sunny. With Brian R. | Play2End | 09/03/2016 |
High wind and gusts over 50 mph, knocked me about a bit. Visibility was only a few metres in places, but route was easy to follow. The Grey Corries has been my nemesis for a while, aborting 3 times. The route down bore no resemblance to my guide book, completely bypassing the dam and route through the forest. | Jhimmy | 05/10/2015 |
On traverse of Grey Corries ridge using a camp at the head of Waters of Nevis as a base. For a short time valley fog was being blown over the ridge but mostly clear on top. | mindlessflogger | 19/09/2015 |

Grey Corries traverse plus Stob Ban. | rhalstead | 25/06/2015 |
Traversed from Stob Ban and Stob Choire Claurigh, dramatic sunny day with Rob. Final of three major summits we were able to see right into the couloir of ridges coming off South of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mor all filled with snow glinting in the afternoon sun. We descended the ridge towards the break in forestry via the dam at the site of bauxite mine working, Making good use of extensive snow fields for glissading descents. The stings in the tail were the difficulties in crossing the stream at the dam which was not running, slithering down grassy banks, traversing water worn stone of the space normally accommodating the torrent from the hills above and then avoiding the dead sheep to climb more grassy and Rock strewn banks to the concrete of the dam, then finding our way back to car along unmarked or mapped forestry tracks was the usual slightly chaotic map reading process. We were glad to see car, extract it from grassy standing and head off to Spean Bridge for dinner at Russels | david.walker40 | 09/05/2015 |
