From car park to E above West Woodhay Down. Summit is not on access land but no signs prohibiting access. | peter4lc | 10/02/2024 |
First Marilyn in section 42. Parked for free in East Ham outside the gates of Stargrove, once owned by Mick Jagger. Don't block the gates. Made a 6 mile circular walk by ascending the Brenda Parker Way to the Wayfarers way. Descended through the car park and a short diagonal field path and then along country lanes through East Woodhay. Mud not a problem as it was frozen! Lovely sunny day, but a tad cool. Solo. | gbeniston | 16/01/2024 |
Walk w/Devon. Parked Sandpits Down car park. Pilot Hill, Walbury Hill loop. | ZacField | 28/10/2023 |
1/2 Walbury Hill with Pilot Hill from the car park near the Combe Gibbet. Tops not that exciting but pleasant views on the walks between the two and lots of Red Kites. | nickywood1 | 04/10/2023 |

Parked at car park to the west. Followed the track then over the gate to the summit. | Alan Caine | 18/07/2021 |
Did this county top first out of the 3 we did on that day: Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire. We were very disappointed with how disrespected it is for the highest point in South Eastern England. Unfortunately, my cousin didn't do the summit, but I managed to do it and definitely a hill I would never want to go back to again. | DavidHiner | 12/07/2021 |
Did this as part of double bagging with Pilot HIll. Set off from East End. Lovely walk. Walbury Hill closed to public so seek permission first. | cjwilliams | 07/07/2021 |
On a circular out of Ham following the Mid Wilts Way then circling back for Wexcombe Down, Haydown Hill and Walbury Hill. | PhilipChaston | 26/06/2021 |

Parked at Farccombe and walked the Brenda Parker Way up to Wayfarer's Walk. Few spaces to park but the Brenda Parker Way is fantastic - currently being nicely resurfaced and saw birds of prey and more pheasants than I could count. The Wayfarer's Walk was very very boggy after heavy rain and evidence of the rabble out on their dirtbikes churning it up further. Weather was low cloud with light rain, still permitting some excellent views across the countryside framed with the colours of the autumn leaves. With the right kit a good circular walk all year round. | jamiequackers | 01/11/2020 |
Really enjoyed following the high ground of the Wayfarers Walk for a few hours today. | Alex C | 24/09/2020 |
County Top No.7. Walked on from Pilot Hill the on from here to Coombe Gibbet then back down the Test Valley to Faccombe. The sky full of buzzards - saw 10 all in the same section of the sky. Passed Netherton Farm just before the end - the most impressive thatched barn I've ever seen! | pclyndes | 09/09/2020 |
Stopped en-route to cottage in Dorset | ParkerP1960 | 26/08/2020 |

up track from cp | underhill | 08/07/2020 |
The short hop from nearby West Woodhay CP, over the gate and a few bemused sheep moved away from the trig point: a very hot day and this top was followed by a circuit over to Ham and back, with excellent views afforded throughout. | JOHNS | 26/06/2020 |
We parked in Combe Gibbet car park and did short walk up path to the farmers gate which we crossed before arriving at the Trig point. | Sapphirites | 25/06/2020 |
26km walk from Woodhay Down. | atreides7887 | 24/05/2020 |
2nd top of a 3 tump traverse from Kintbury station to Bedwyn station and a West Berkshire completion, climbing Pilot hill then re-tracing route to continue on trail, climbing over gate to walk Sw to top but waiting for family to do the widespread habit of standing on the trig pillar. I was content to reach the slight rise nearby. Beautiful views, remniscent of the Ridgeway. Continuation via the Test Way via Inkpen hill to Carvers Hill... | Dazingdale | 22/03/2020 |
Parked in carpark (Combe Gibbet Carpark) and did short walk up path behind carpark and across field in the middle of Storm Dennis 50mph winds! | Hippy77 | 15/02/2020 |

Along the Wayfarers to Combe Gibbet and up to the trig, hopped the gate. | Eggletina | 26/09/2019 |
On the way home (sort of)after Butser Hill. The minor roads round here are a nightmare! Parked at the CP area to the East then along the track and a left turn to the trig and adjacent high point. The stile over the fence looks as though it has been broken/removed and is no longer there. | Jephcote83 | 14/09/2019 |
Rolling hills. Walbury Hill, Pilot Hill, Combe Hill, Summer Hill, Inkpen Hill and Combe Gibbet. | peter_tun | 08/09/2019 |

From the car park, up the Wayfarers Walk, then through field to trig | Longwojo | 02/08/2019 |
Visited by party of 14 on Tim's birthday walk. Started from Crown & Garter pub at Inkpen Common. Circular route via West Woodhay House, Highwood Farm & Pilot Hill (Hants highest point) and Wayfarer's Walk. Views magnificent on both sides of ridge, but curiously we met no other walkers today. Triangulation obelisk easily accessible via stile from bridle path. Descent alongside ancient fort steeper but not unduly so. Sighting of Tree pipit near copse at end of descent. | timbo99 | 06/07/2019 |
Beautiful sunny and windy day. Great views. Came off footpath to trig point, then carried on to Pilot Hill. | Eliza100 | 04/05/2019 |

Great walk in from car park | Sossick | 24/11/2017 |
Pilot Hill and Walbury Hill, gaining access by bike. Route up to Pilot Hill from SU 40823 59713 was fine on bike but down to road at SU 38333 61430 was very muddy and had to push the bike. Route up and down to Walbury Hill was fine but you do have to climb over fence to get to summit (not a public footpath). | tsharp | 21/11/2017 |
With K before breakfast | Ashley | 14/11/2017 |
5/8M quick grab from the cp. | robertphillips | 06/11/2017 |
After driving all the way down to Win Green and Long Knoll, I was not going to miss this one out whilst in the area, so I bagged it in the dark. Great fun hunting for the trig in the lush meadow grass, but not as hard as finding the way around the minor roads in the dark. Good view of a firework display in Newbury on the way back. | Gill | 14/10/2017 |
Trig point is on private land with no right of way but there is a stile by a gate from the waymarked path which suggests they don't mind you visiting. | ijpowell | 07/09/2017 |
Started at Combe Gibbet, dropped down into Combe then around the bottom of Walbury Hill before re-joining the Wayfarers and jumping over the obscured stile and into the field to find the (also obscured) trig point. It's almost like they don't want you to find it! | Jeremy C | 02/09/2017 |
Circuit from Walbury Hill via Faccombe and Linkenholt | rjf35 | 28/08/2017 |
Headed West out of Combe Gillet car park. Thankfully realised our mistake 0.5 miles in and turned back. There was nobody in the field when we were there - a very quiet county top, surprisingly on a summer weekend and a really lovely day. We continued along Wayfarers Walk to Pilot Hill. | WendyWozEre | 06/08/2017 |

Visited the trig, then climbed onto the roof of the strange round building. This would be the In Pin of West Berkshire, except that the In Pin is natural, and doesn't have a dead tree next to it to provide an easy climb up. | Pete R | 06/11/2014 |

Top no.4 of w/end away. Parked busy cp, up Bway to gate, TL and trig staight ahead at end of green track. Field empty. Unremarkable, but saved by being grand english summer morning; skylarks in fine voice, fair weather cumulus etc. | martin & storm | 20/07/2008 |

Disappointing. Parked to W and followed path to top. Very little view except to N. | robphys | 25/11/2006 |
With Shaky on a cold but clear day from the car park near the gibbet. Nipped across the field to the summit & then continued on the Wayfarer's Walk before heading SW to Faccombe, Linkenholt & back up on to the down by Sheepless Hill. Several other visits here including a County Top bagging evening with Martin66 & a memorable sunny winter day postholing through deep snow for as far as we could manage! | NotReallyABagger | 25/11/2006 |
Highest accessible point is actually the concrete roof of a circular brick hut/store (which is actually quite dangerous as you'd never be able to get out without a ladder if you fell into it.) Another trig plate without an S prefix! | signyred | 23/08/2006 |

From Ashmansworth NW along the downs to Coombe Gibbet, a top much more interesting than Walbury Hill. Fortunately I knew about Marilyns so walked across the field to bag it. Back via Sheepless Hill and Faccombe. Good walk, distance views, interesting area- also fitted in Ashmansworth church and Sandham Memorial Chapel in the day. The walk took 4h. | pwheeler | 24/09/2005 |

Ridiculously foggy - kept mistaking sheep for the trig! Field containing trig looks private, but gate unlocked and allows easy access when we were there. Hill fort large but insipid. Easy to link this to Hampshire county top at Pilot Hill | wheresthepath | 04/12/2004 |
