First Marilyn in section 42. Parked for free in East Ham outside the gates of Stargrove, once owned by Mick Jagger. Don't block the gates. Made a 6 mile circular walk by ascending the Brenda Parker Way to the Wayfarers way. Descended through the car park and a short diagonal field path and then along country lanes through East Woodhay. Mud not a problem as it was frozen! Lovely sunny day, but a tad cool. Solo.gbeniston16/01/2024

Did this county top first out of the 3 we did on that day: Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire. We were very disappointed with how disrespected it is for the highest point in South Eastern England. Unfortunately, my cousin didn't do the summit, but I managed to do it and definitely a hill I would never want to go back to again.DavidHiner12/07/2021
Did this as part of double bagging with Pilot HIll. Set off from East End. Lovely walk. Walbury Hill closed to public so seek permission first.cjwilliams07/07/2021

Parked at Farccombe and walked the Brenda Parker Way up to Wayfarer's Walk. Few spaces to park but the Brenda Parker Way is fantastic - currently being nicely resurfaced and saw birds of prey and more pheasants than I could count. The Wayfarer's Walk was very very boggy after heavy rain and evidence of the rabble out on their dirtbikes churning it up further. Weather was low cloud with light rain, still permitting some excellent views across the countryside framed with the colours of the autumn leaves. With the right kit a good circular walk all year round.jamiequackers01/11/2020

County Top No.7. Walked on from Pilot Hill the on from here to Coombe Gibbet then back down the Test Valley to Faccombe. The sky full of buzzards - saw 10 all in the same section of the sky. 2nd top of a 3 tump traverse from Kintbury station to Bedwyn station and a West Berkshire completion, climbing Pilot hill then re-tracing route to continue on trail, climbing over gate to walk Sw to top but waiting for family to do the widespread habit of standing on the trig pillar. I was content to reach the slight rise nearby. Beautiful views, remniscent of the Ridgeway. Continuation via the Test Way via Inkpen hill to Carvers Hill...Dazingdale22/03/2020

Visited by party of 14 on Tim's birthday walk. Started from Crown & Garter pub at Inkpen Common. Circular route via West Woodhay House, Highwood Farm & Pilot Hill (Hants highest point) and Wayfarer's Walk. Views magnificent on both sides of ridge, but curiously we met no other walkers today. Triangulation obelisk easily accessible via stile from bridle path. Descent alongside ancient fort steeper but not unduly so. Sighting of Tree pipit near copse at end of descent.timbo9906/07/2019

Pilot Hill and Walbury Hill, gaining access by bike. Route up to Pilot Hill from SU 40823 59713 was fine on bike but down to road at SU 38333 61430 was very muddy and had to push the bike. After driving all the way down to Win Green and Long Knoll, I was not going to miss this one out whilst in the area, so I bagged it in the dark. Great fun hunting for the trig in the lush meadow grass, but not as hard as finding the way around the minor roads in the dark. Good view of a firework display in Newbury on the way back.Gill14/10/2017
Trig point is on private land with no right of way but there is a stile by a gate from the waymarked path which suggests they don't mind you visiting.ijpowell07/09/2017

From Ashmansworth NW along the downs to Coombe Gibbet, a top much more interesting than Walbury Hill. Fortunately I knew about Marilyns so walked across the field to bag it. Back via Sheepless Hill and Faccombe. Good walk, distance views, interesting area- also fitted in Ashmansworth church and Sandham Memorial Chapel in the day. The walk took 4h.pwheeler24/09/2005
