From big but mostly unparkable car park for Falls of Truim. Quick visit to falls and then along farm track to just beyond the holiday cottages and up through fields behind the cottages. Straight up eastern slopes, mostly on animal tracks following the same line as a black cable on the ground that connects to the white mast on the ridge line. Continued SW along ridge with one short but easy scramble on a path up through the crags to top area. Nice viewpoint. Continued SW Over Cruben Mor to bag a few of the Tumps on that side before taking track back to Crubenmore Lodge and along road back to car.Jossker16/03/2024
Parked on the verge off the road to the NW and headed SE up towards the deer fence on the ridge. Faint signs of a trod in places. Returned the same way. Cloud base around 600m allowing sight of the flooded Spey valley after the recent heavy rainfall. Very wet underfoot. With Gillian and Jacquie.richard6908/10/2023

Here for the trigpoint TP:UK log: Same route as Fife Walking. I found many trodden paths up and seemed to find a more definite one on the return. From gate at NN 66010 93482. Up trodden path beside fence.thejackrustles26/03/2023
Parked at roadside to NW. New building work going on here but no one about on a Sunday. Up track and then managed to jump across fast flowing stream higher up. Followed deer fence back and up to summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave22/01/2023

From Falls of Truim parking (NN681922), followed road towards Crubenbeg, over river, turning left into unsigned track immediately after the first (white) house on left, track curves W across field, gate, then SW through open woods to another gate, turned right (NW) after gate, following fence up hill, crossed a deer fence using a pre-cut me-sized hole, continued to a fence corner then NW up through woods, meeting deer fence again, ducked under at a convenient spot, then NW up slopes, past summit to avoid crags, cut back SW to top, return same way (1h50m)kdbennett21/09/2022
One of three. Squeezed OH car oppposite the gate. Evidence of cows, no cows present . Vegetation lush. Found small path that crossed burn….and onwards. Got OVER one deer fence, …wrong side. And so it went …. Great views of A9, from summit. Bearing off to middle bealach and then onto M Chat…..and C Sanaish… lots of sitting and looking …VerySlowPlodder30/07/2022
Parked by the Centre for Scotland Stone, up the waymarked track to the viewpoint. Back a little way to the highest point, across to the fence and across the fence, followed the NE ridge up to the col, across the fence and up fairly steep path onto the summit ridge. Across to the summit. Down the NE ridge staying on a deer track to the right of the fence all the way down to where the deer fence goes back up in a V, then across the smaller fence. Picked up a deer track down the ridge through the woods to the stream. Then out the other side to meet the track down to the road. 2km back along the very quiet road to the car. Pleasant 4.5 mile round trip. Out about 2.25hrs.JulieB20/07/2022
An excellent circuit of Cruben Beag to Meall Crubenmore and back via the more westerly hills ending at Creag na Sanais. Straightforward with heather at times.sclater08/01/2022
From road to north along east side of fence.Winterfloodian15/09/2020
From the minor road to the north west. Followed the stream side of the fence to avoid a bull, then crossed into the field further up. Straightforward but at times wintry ascent up the NW ridge. With DW.Owen B18/02/2020
Second visit. I meant to do the 6 Dodd horseshoe but was foiled by deep, soft snow. It took over 1.5 hours to fight my way to the first summitColin Crawford15/12/2019
Northwest ridge in the late afternoon. Slightly damp. It’s easier if you don’t cross the deer fence (as you only have to cross it again).Jon F05/11/2019
Handy 6 Dodd circuit, picking off Dalwhinnie FBM on the descent back to the road. Glad I decided to reverse my original plan and do this peak first while the weather was still fair. Poured it down all the way for the 2 hour plod back to Newtonmore.Alex C01/11/2019
With Martin & Sue (& Mick, but he's often with me and doesn't usually get a mention!) from minor road to the north. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.com/2019/10/cruban-beag-nn668924-590m.htmlGayle05/10/2019
Anticlockwise round of Allt Coire Mhoraich. Good views wet underfoot in places. Last of the day and a trigpoint. Met a party of 4 on way down who were suprised to see another walker.cjo05/10/2019

From Coraldie up NW ridge, down via Creag a’ Chrubain to road near Shanvall, back along road. Heavy showers, some sun, windy. Rounsfell18/08/2019
A good hill, starting near the memorial. Parked on the grass by the large boulder at the fork in the forest road. Obvious route to the N ridge, with the tracks visible through felled forestry. Small section of new planting, easy, to the deer fence. Needs climbing, and the only bit that isn't rickety is by a fence post made from a tree trunk. Contour below the bumpy ridge on easy short vegetables, then step over a BWF at a boggy col. Head for an obvious break in the crags above a scree slope, and grovel up a peaty stony rooty deer track. Very easy thereafter, with a good path. Splendid views all the way.Gill10/06/2018
Along the track to the north-west (parking a couple of hundred metres along the road to the east); then south-east making a bee-line for the top across heathery ground, climbing two deer fences in the process.martin_hall16/04/2018

Quick walk up from the center of Scotland marmoreal in GlentruimNozzer29/05/2017
Bagging the trig. Parked at the stone marking one of the supposed centres of Scotland near Glentruim. Followed the markd trail to the nearest cairn. From here, there is a new deer fence barring the way to the next set of cairns. This was negotiated successfully and the cairns were reached. Then it was on past a broadband aerial array, over a low fence and on to the trig via a steep diagonal path. Great views up and down the A9 and away to the west.BigJ29/05/2017

Parked at 659935 and headed up the track south before crossing the burn and keeping to the north side of the fence on the NW ridge. This avoids negotiating deer fences higher up. Just under 2 hours solo.bolton14/02/2017

From the north via track then fence. Such lovely views all round today.jenx14/03/2016
With a friend. From near the war memorial to the north of Cruban Beag. We followed a track south, taking a branch SW and then following a fence. We had noted the crag signs on the OS 1:50,000 map, but thought we ought to be able to climb up the prow of the NE ridge of Cruban Beag. It was steep heather with snow and icy in parts. Higher up it became rocky and a bit icy so we decided to retreat as a slip could have unpleasant consequences. We contoured round to the west and climbed steeply up a leftwards slanting defile. This was also heather with snow, but we did succeed here to reach easier slopes leading to the summit of Cruban Beag. Saw an eagle. Descended the NW ridge, keeping to the left of crags. We came across a fence, which we followed down, keeping to the right of the fence. Low down we crossed a field with cattle in it to reach the road at a gate. No need for any fence climbing. Walked along the road back to the cars.pwbellarby17/01/2016

Headed up a track from the minor road, then across the heathery slopes to the summit. Oh, I forgot, there is a huge deer fence to assault. Followed the ridge line descent back to the road.Play2End16/11/2014
Parked by bridge over burn on minor road on north side of the hill at NN 659 935. Then walked a little way east to pass through gate into boggy field. Worked our way SE through gap in the trees and then up to minor bealach on the hill's NE ridge. Followed deer tracks from there up steeply through crags onto plateau and then easily west up to trig point. Descended north, avoiding crags, to join outward route on edge of woods. lovely little hill, but it has two deer fences. the first had a gap you could crawl through, second was bend over , easy enough to step over.tallblond26/10/2013

From road to NW (65990 93480)cross fence at R of crags, then open ground to top. No vegitation issues.tim74716/03/2013
Started from NW, followed track south then turned SE. Encountered more natural regenerate vegetation defended by high fencing. Returned by more direct route, following east side of fence. Starting from Falls of Truim may have been better albeit steeper.Topographer5705/08/2011
Started from War Memorial - tracks to edge of forest at 673736 - then curving E ridge - no problems - terrific viewpoint.Chris Peart09/11/2010
Revisit. Trig on rock outcrop at summit, small cairn nearby. Quick bag (45mins) from N (little sign of the mapped crags), late pm, great light, fine view.RHW28/12/2008
