Straightforward from golf club car park in what passes for darkness these days. | Wycombe Wanderer | 21/09/2022 |
Parked in the Golf Club car park but the golf course was closed today. It is surrounded by a difficult fence but the bar was open and I walked through out onto the patio and away on to the course to the trig. | clivevilla | 14/03/2022 |

From golf club CP. | mart0797 | 16/03/2019 |
1 of 5 on 38.3 mile bike ride including great wold, high hunsley wold, south field old GR, south field and east mount. To stay off the golf course I cut through the rough area to see a deer come out of the bushes so took a picture as I put my camera away another 5 came running out | The-Z-Man | 06/01/2019 |
Easy from GC cp. Asked a couple of golfers the way & they said ah yes, you want the highest point in Hull. Hadn't the heart to say it was no longer. | ngthack | 23/10/2017 |
Very pleasant stroll on sunny morning. | Bramley | 08/05/2016 |
Stroll across a very nice golf course with guidance from a very helpful green keeper | Ramblingpaul | 20/09/2015 |
Trig 3704 by 16th tee on golf course. | arranc | 04/06/2015 |
Solo. A lovely stroll across the golf course to the trig point. A much more deserving County Top than South Field. | Dangerous Dave | 04/03/2015 |
Parked in the golf course car park then a pleasant 10 minute walk to the trig. No one seemed to mind me being there. | bolieve | 01/11/2014 |
Parked in the car park in front of the entrance. Got permission but needn't have bothered, I was told it's council run so can just walk in!! Found the trig pillar with a football on top and a huge man made hole in the fence behind but didn't see any metal spikes, they must have been further back. | Jacqdaw | 16/08/2014 |
Parked at Sutton Park golf course, asked permission, readily given. Followed track around then up side of fairway past a pond to the trig just inside the trees. Thought occurred to me: if this was altitude 11m, then that pond must have been at, or below sea level! Features on nearby green seemed higher. | Aye Jimmy | 14/08/2014 |
Passing nearby so slipped through the golf course at dusk. | Martin R | 28/01/2012 |
Park at the car park, follow the tarmac track from the clubhouse then cut across a fairway and up a bit of a slope to the 15th green. trig is behind 16th tee. Ladies tee on 16th or lip of bunker on 15th both look a little higher. | simon and co | 24/05/2011 |
Nice 10 minute walk through the golf course. Really friendly people in the office. | The Team | 29/01/2011 |
Followed advice so went via golf club on mild grey morning. | Dugswell2 | 09/10/2010 |
i really would not recommend parking by house 106. the track is now so overgrown and there is a pointed pallasade fence to negotiate. one slip and its no more kids. | DARRENG | 07/07/2010 |
Waste of time from the housing estate - the fence. park in the golf club (municipal) and ask at reception if you can walk up. They were VERY helpful - pleasant 400m each way. | destaylor | 21/09/2009 |
Attempted to reach the trig point via Western Gailes Way, but there was a large spiked fence in the way. Pretty much at the top by that point so decided not to climb over. | Richard | 22/08/2009 |
Tried and failed twice before to get to this from
Western Gailies way and the housing estate, this time just asked at golf club and got permission to walk up. | asbown | 15/03/2009 |
went through golf course trig just on the edge. | johnfwoolley | 13/01/2008 |
2nd of 2 trig visits, this time from NNW; first time was 2 Feb 2002. Logged retrospectively (14 Feb 2014) - by now it is demoted, trumped by a 12m spot height! | RHW | 18/08/2007 |

If only I had read the handy hint of where to park below! I amde a real mess and ended up walking about two and a half miles! | Father Ted | 15/09/2006 |
Can be approached via golf course or by track just beyond house no 106 on the side road that branches SE of the infirmary. BM S3704 | signyred | 13/08/2006 |
Parked on Western Gailes Way at TA 136 328, trig a little tricky to find at edge of woodland a short distance up a footpath from the road. | wheresthepath | 04/12/2005 |
