As per nicolajane, thankfully it had been reasonably dry.curlebd30/04/2022
Good parking at end of track at NJ 04815 33865. Very wet hill, much harder going than it looks on the map.nicolajane26/05/2021

Parked at S end of passing place 200yds S of Auchnahannet, followed track to 400m, then through heather, grass tussocks and snow to summit. Had a wander round summit area. High winds, snow showers. Then onto Carn an Fhradhairc and Tom Mor.CJM23/02/2020

Parked at NJ 0587/3338 then track north to old quarry (NJ 0666/3501) where an ATV track leads across rough ground towards a line of red and white posts (grouse food/grit). Line of posts goes to top over best of rough ground. Did not see any grouse but they are being well fed.dave g14/08/2019
A nice circuit around the Allt Luachair starting on the track beginning at ca. 107334, good parking a little way to the W. Followed the easy track over Bad Each and Carn a'Fhradhairc to its end, then a faint ATV track to the top. Cut down SW to a shelf above the head of the river on nasty rough ground (hags and old peat cuttings) and up a little to find an ATV track heading SE to join the main mapped track towards the mast. Cut up off this to the nice summit of Tom Mor. Down the rough mast track and followed the main track back. Great views all the way despite rain. Interesting land slips above Glenmore Loch. Strange warning signs for a non-existent rifle range, perhaps designed to deter access.Gill29/07/2018
With Dave Roeder. Parked at Auchnahannet gateway (16:35), followed track to nearest point then mostly pathless through heather to summit. Descent easier down cut heather bands. Dry, overcast. Finish 18:35dbb23/04/2018

Bagging the trig. Parked near Auchnagallin and followed the obvious track north to Huntly's Cave and Sgor Gaoithe. Turned east and followed an ATV track on the north side of the fence before heading across the frozen bog to the trig. Returned via Auchnahannet and up the road to the car.BigJ24/02/2018
Parked at house by track to south for anti clockwise route over four TuMPs including Marilyn. Very hard work terrain mask from last north easterly summit.vegibagger28/10/2017
From Auchnahannet. Helps a lot if you find the cut heather bands.Lionel Bidwell17/08/2017
5/5 Marilyn. Long day round Elgin/Forres concluded up this delightful little hill. From Achnahannet. Up the track then over heather moor to summit, glad of the preceding dry spell. Sun and fine views to Ben Rinnes and the Cairngorms to the south.N.Morters05/05/2017
With Peterb and the dog. Took the common approach from Knock of Achnahannet where parking is available a few hundred yards south of the farm. Followed the track until it levels out, adjacent with the mast before taking the heathery slopes to the summit (ATV track followed part of the way). Reversed route to return, good views from summit.bowlesy04/01/2017
From Auchnahannet Farm then along the track to the high point and then along a faint atv track before striking up through the heather to the summit. Good views of the Grant estate and the distant Cairngorms.Peterb04/01/2017

Parked on verge of yellow road 500m south of track end. Ascended via track beyond Knock of Auchnahannet until reaching saddle from where it was rough walking through heather to summit. There are areas of burnt heather which help to ease this although the ground beneath is very lumpy also.raffemeister07/10/2016
Parked, 7.5t horsebox!, 500m W of Auchnagallin at large area opposite track end. Then 1km E to Auchnahannet, then up track to quarry. Faint ATV track N peters out, then up to summit. Descended NW along line of unmarked grouse butts, and then W to contour round Sgor Gaoithe, and join track to road. Lunch at Tombain wood afterwards with V and G.Minto17/09/2016

A bit rough after leaving the track.hillsman03/07/2016
Here for trigpoint. TP:UK Log: Parked on the verge by the wheelie bins for Auchnahannet farm and walked up the track. Followed the large track to the mast until about 1km, then took a quad track off to the left which went along in the wrong direction and didn't go up the hill as planned. Then decided to pick my way up through the heather, holes and bog finding the odd 'path' and eventually arrived at the trigpoint. Found this 1km tough in both directions. Luckily the lack of tracks, quad or otherwise meant we didn't see any snares which was lucky as I had Charlie with me. As per previous logs the pillar is in good condition (but the cap is missing), with good views in all directions - especially towards Ben Rinnes, and towards the Cairngorms. Grouse water butt (is that what it is?) close to trigpoint.thejackrustles19/06/2016
Amazing moonlit walk back down. Snow and ice twinkles all around.jenx18/01/2016
With Jnx at end of day from track leading to Knock of Auchnahannet. Parked just inside the gate leading to farm, avoiding another field gate. Followed the main track leading up the aerial to 420m then an ATV track leading off towards top. A mix of cut heather bands and sheep tracks delivered us easily to the top as the sun set. Descent under a growing moon and crisp skies.nordicstar18/01/2016
parked opp house at track road junction auchanhannet, track then heather to the top.robertphillips31/10/2015
there is a wide verge 300m S of Auchnahunnet and then a good track, then a rough bit then more path to the summit. Nice moorland. Did the other Carn na Loine the following dayThearlaichdubh05/05/2015
Park in layby south of Knockanbuie. Up good hill tracks to 073 353, then faint path to top. back down to junction at 096 353 and out near Tom na LaimhPeteN10/04/2015
Parked about 500m SE of Auchnahannet, back along road, them nice walk up track as far as an old quarry at about 066350. Then left onto a much rougher track which soon petered out, thereafter a few strips of long grass and short heather provided only partial relief from the long heather and very uneven ground that goes with it. Splendid view of Cairngorms on the way down.Topographer5704/10/2014

Solo. Parked at start of track near Auchnagallin at NJ047338. Walked north along track. When near Sgor Gaoithe left track and went over that minor bump and so to the summit of Carn na Lòine. Descended SSW to join track that goes past Knock of Auchnahannet and back along road.pwbellarby16/06/2013

Early morning 2 hour walk.bolton20/02/2013
From Auchnahannet didn't matter whether I was on the track or not as it was fresh, deep, soft, tiring snow all the way up and down. Certainly not the conditions for two Marilyns a day, which is what I was hoping to do. Note to self - must learn to ski.Martin R04/12/2012
Revisit. track most of the way. Remainder of climb a bit tussocky-heathery but not hard, from SW.RHW10/04/2011
Parked at Auchnahannet (our old house!) and walked up track past Knock of Auchnahannet to where it turns right behind Tom Mor and from that point straight up to summit. Off track the ground was boggy, heathery and tussocky but not far. Up in 40 minutes analasdaircairns27/02/2009

From Knock of Auchragallan, circuitous and in two halves: tack and trudging through heather.Eddie04/09/2004
