1/3 - big day from Glen Affric hostel - fair weather. The initial walk in to col feels easy enough but lots of up and down to the first summit. Promise of clearing skies didn't happen.....wychwood18/09/2022
With Pete, Tim B, Ella, Rory, Rafi, Alex, & Fergus. From Stob Coire na Cloiche. Lovely ridge approach. Descended back to Alltbeithe via Coire na Cloiche to fell wildcamp & walk out to the Cluanie Inn. Bit claggy at the top, but heavily raining on descent and horribly sodden in the bog with tricky river crossings on the walk out.millionmts15/08/2022

An Socach, Mullach nan Dheiragain and Sgùrr nan Ceathreamhnan solo from Glen Affric in a day. Was originally planning to do these as a 2-day trip with a stay at Altbeithe, but due to the Covid closure, I decided to try it as a single day outing. Took the bike and left Glen Affric car park at just after 4am in pitch black - head torch and bike front light illuminating the Affric/Kintail way. Track was rideable for the first 4.5 miles though - but after Athnamulloch, it was mostly unrideable with large boulder-covered sections of track, and frequent flooded sections, so it ended up being almost 6:30am by the time I arrived at the hostel. In hindsight, I'd rather have just left the bike at home and done the 6miles walk-in/out from Cluanie (boggy but almost 3 miles shorter). Locked the bike at Althbeithe and had a wee breather on a log, taking in some breakfast. The hill walk started cloudy with drizzle so I was in full waterproofs for most of the initial ascent. Accessed from the Glen Affric Youth Hostel, hiked in from Glen Affric Car Park with on Friday 6th September with Alex McBride. On Saturday 7th September, Alex and I bagged the three Munros to the north of the Hostel, Mullach na Dheiragain (982m), Sgurr nan Ceathramhnan (1151m) and An Socach (921m). It was sunny all day with only a few clouds visible. The views were great, particular of Ben Nevis to the south, Torridon to the north, the Cullin Ridge and Skye Bridge to the west. 11:10 hours all in.chillyman807/09/2019
With Rob H we had stayed at Alt Beithe SYHA. We set off up the hill at the back of the youth hostel in gathering mist and scattered showers. Our intent was to climb Sgurr Nan Chreathamhnan and Mullach na Dhearagain. We climbed An Socach last from the col having traversed the valley to cut off the repeated traverse Sgurr Nan Chreathamhnan. A 12 mile day. Wet conditions cool misty in patches.david.walker4020/05/2019

Climbed solo. Cycle from Glen Affric Hostel to Allt Coire Ghaidheil bridge. Stalkers path to Bealach Coire Ghaidheil. Rugged but straightforward ridge walk over An Socach N top, An Socach, An Socach W top, Stob Coire na Cloiche, Stob Coire nan Dearcag, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan E top to Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan main summit. The latter is a superlative mountain - vast, complex, remote and with a nice pointy peak! Returned to Bealach Coire na Cloiche, and thence down fine stalkers path to the hostel. Weather was fine with morning mist clearing to give a fine afternoon with far-ranging views from all summits. Caught in a heavy shower on descent around 6pm. Time ~ 8 hours.jamessteel10020/08/2016

3rd of 3, solo. After only a brief stop on MnD it was back along to collect pack and then cracking climb up ridge to summit. Think I was 2 hours from MnD and it is a fair distance! Views and weather just epic, hardly anyone on hill and just an excellent day. But you're still a long way from home, couple of ups and downs before path back to hostel and then another hour for the cycle out. 50k (30k on bike), ~1850m, ~13hrs. Absolute epic!bowzi25/08/2013

Over Bealach an Sgairne, rounded end of Loch a'Bhealaich & then stupidly traversed under summit of Sgurr Gaorsaic which meant another trip some years later. At last onto one of GBs greatest mountains. We cycled to Carnach and took the shortest, most pared down route over Sgurr nan Clachan Geala to the summit so we could go over Mullach na Dheiragain as well. The walk between Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan's W and E tops was especially impressive and I'd love to return to do different routes on what looks like, and feels like, a massive mountain. Fine day, just below cloud base on summit. With Pete.pwheeler25/05/2001

My second visit, on my only crossing of Scotland from east to west. I can't claim this as a 'coast to coast', as it started in Glen Affric (NH200233) and finished at Dorusduain (NG980223), but it still seemed a reasonable achievement to me. (Total time 8.5 hours.)David Purchase02/06/2000
