From wind farm entrance at 885450 (15:25), to junction at 880435. The ford there on the 1:25k map is now a bridge, but the track shown winding S from there to the forest edge is little more than a faint path, albeit following an easy line. The moorland is trackless, but not too hard through short March vegetation in good weather. Back by same route; finish 18:05dbb22/03/2020
From ESE, gate by White Cairn on A826. Followed short track to Military Road then straight to summit. Followed by Meall Dearg South Top. With PM.CJM10/11/2019
From the gate at 908412. Up General Wades road to the bend and then directly to the summit with CM. Just over 2 hours in very cold but clear conditions.bolton10/11/2019
A note for would be baggers: the route from the east is not possible 3rd July 2019 because all parking and tracks are blocked by roadworks. This should finish soon but best leave it a couple of weeks. I will be back!Gill03/07/2019
Not sure about going up, strong wind in valley and squally rain but turned out OK. A round of 5 tops from glen Quaich. Creag Choille; past new wind turbines to Meall Odhar; on to Meall Dearg Far W top; Meall Dearg; Creag an Loch and down to track. A nice round in the end.dickscroop03/06/2019
3rd of an anti-clockwise round of the Glen Fender hills, starting and finishing from Milton. A series of tracks (if your'e on them) or scars (if you are looking at them) make this a pretty straightforward walk (about 4 hrs in total).summitter10/02/2019
A lovely crisp clear walking day. With Brian from the road junction up the good track. Great views.Play2End30/01/2019
With Clare, Jon, Will, Mark and Hannah.Grinner13/12/2018
A plethora of no parking signs one side of road at junction of A822 & A826 so parked other side, sufficient space for 2 cars. NW along A826 for couple of hundred metres took track to Cablea & followed it along Glen Fender. Along ridge, hood up, into ice spindrift. 4 hours in snow.rogreeves30/03/2018
Solo jog/walk directly up from the road to the east. Not much to recommend on that route apart from its relative brevity.amswanston08/01/2017

Meall Dearg (NN 886415) S/F NN 908412 Log entry made some time after ascent so date uncertain, probably 2015 - 2017. Dry with high cloud, little wind.John Young01/07/2016

From Glen Fender: the zigzag track on the map now continues to within about 0.5km of the summit. It's shown on Google satellite view. We started at Amulree, although there is parking at the A826/A822 junction which is nearer.Pete R30/04/2016
Solo for change from road ro East. Curcuit of all tops in just over 2hrs. Deep heather and limited track usefulness.nordicstar15/04/2016

After ascending Meall Odhar, Creag Choille, Meall Dearg Far West Top and Creag an Loch. Now very misty so careful navigation down to the outfall of Loch Fender and up to the summit of Meall Dearg. Descended NE to a track I seen from the road which was not on my 1:50,000 map. Track went SE - wrong direction for me. Decided to follow the line of General Wade's Road through the forest back to car. A miserable wet experience, best avoided!pwbellarby14/06/2014

Forestry road from Griffin Forest CP to Loch Hoil is closed to public. Went to see, and was escorted through forest by site manager after discussion on access. This route will be difficult for some time, they are building a wind farm near Loch Hoil.neimcv29/03/2012

A quick ascent with Martin66 from the from the high point of the A824. Directly across the moor using faint tracks for a decent view. Back by the same route.NotReallyABagger24/11/2011
Followed line of new grouse butts from the Wade road. Good all round view. Including a depressingly good view of the ravages of the new Griffin power station.Martin R27/10/2011
