Wild weather on top. Very strong winds, loads of ice and snow. Perfect. Views were fabulous. Cloud on Beinn Eighe and conditions deteriorating by minute. Stonking walk, descended back to mountain trail. Great winter day walking. Company: Soloiandesbottes08/02/2024
Meall a' Ghiubhais & Ruadh-stac Beag from the Beinn Eighe visitor centre, with John. Good going on the path up to the SE flanks of Meall a' Ghiubhais and then struck NW up to the summit. Stopped at the larger cairn (W top) and took some photos then we carefully headed W then S down to the Alt Toll a' Ghiubhais, crossed and then ascended SW up Ruadh-stac Beag SW on a shoulder ridge - with a steep rocky (slightly snow-covered) section on the final 100m of ascent. After a summit stop, descended down the screen slopes to the south and then headed NE to regain the same path back out. Tough day on some challenging terrain, but under blue skies with a slight breeze, conditions were perfect. Total time 7h 21min.mproudfoot15/04/2023
From Beinn Eighe NNR CP. Followed Mountain Trail via Leathad Buidhe, onto Lunar Loch second cairn, then WSW and WNW to summit. Back down to stone shelter (on fault line) above Luna Loch . Left at path and back via Woodland Trail. With PM.CJM22/09/2022
From the car park at 001650 via the mountain trail. Good path up to the viewpoint and then a steep but easy traverse to the ridge. Got caught in a heavy shower. Great views when it cleared. Descended the woodland trail. 5.5 miles with CM.bolton22/09/2022

From Glas Leitire car pack well graded path as far as a lochan then path with occasional cairns to summit. No complications, a short day.dickscroop04/09/2021
From Glas Letire Trails car park, followed 'Mountain trail' via Alltan Mhic Eogheinn to Leathad Buidhe, continued to Lunar Loch, then headed at first SW then W up to ridge NE of Meall a' Ghiuthais and on to the summit, descended back to trail E of Lunar Loch and followed it back down to the car park via Cnoc na Gaoithe, using the direct unsigned path from NG997649kdbennett25/08/2021

Up the excellent Pony Path from the visitor centre to its end, then north easterly to Leathad Buidhe across strewn sandstone morraine. Passing the lovely nearby lochans we next headed westward up the steep path to Meall a'Ghiubhais ... quite an ask in surprisingly warm and windless conditions. Once summited, we bombed down the SE flank back to the top of the Pony path, then headed into Allt Loch an Tuill Bhain, a strangely dark chasm below the sharp sunlit peaks of Beinn Eighe towering above. A narrow path along the east bank allowed relatively easy access to the south side of Ruadh-stac Beag. Its a tough scramble up boulders and scree to the moon-like summit plateau, but well worth the effort. The panorama is truly spectacular, but with dusk arriving it was time to lock it in the memory bank and head back to the visitor centre. 6.5 hrs total. Great day in superb conditions and great company.summitter07/11/2020

Coille na Glas Leitire - Leathad Buidhe - Meall a' Ghiubhais - Coille na Glas Leitire. In steady rain.Mark Jackson31/05/2019
From Ruadh-stac Beag. Descended that one down its scree/bouldery NW face. A wet crossing of the river at NG 9721 6241; then followed the Alt na Creige Baine up before contouring round Creag Baine to NG 9706 6356 after which it was just a bit of slog up in wind and rain. Checked out several other tops glimpsed through the cloud, assume all are lower. Descended to NG 9894 6354 where a good track was picked up leading up and over the Highland 5.jonglew10/09/2018
From CP a few miles up from the Visitor centre. Initially got lost in the wood as marker post wasn't on the path leading to the mountains so walked past turn off. Easy Corbett to bag, but the next one (Ruadh-stac Beag) wasn't!Jhimmy07/06/2018
Based in Colin's Van at Kinlochewe. Stunning weather.iansm24/05/2018
Up the pony track starting from visitor centre 1km NW of Kinlochewe. Higher slopes mostly smooth but there is some scree. Good viewpoint for Beinn Eighe.Topographer5723/05/2018

Clockwise circuit using mountain trail from Coille na Glas car park. With Nathan.MorecambeMonkey07/04/2016
From the car park at the S end of Loch Maree with Shaky. Late start. Nature Trails path to high point with cairn & then skirted Loch Allt An Daraich & went more or less due E up steepening slopes to the summit. With deteriorating weather & the day getting on, we abandoned the planned ascent of Ruadh-stac Beag. Back two days later to sort that out though...NotReallyABagger16/09/2015

Low cloud and wet. Climbed with Gary Bidwell. In some respects the bad weather was a blessing. If the weather had been better then Gary would have been persuading me to climb the Northern Pinnacles on Liathach. The cloud only cleared briefly on the way back from Meall a'Ghubhais which we climbed second - the easier of the two hills as basically a slog up a bolder field!langskill24/05/2009
