Last Corbett! With, Janice and Joan, Andrew and Jane came part of the way. Lucky - got great views once the mist lifted. Route as per the book. | BasherBob | 15/08/2023 |
From Ardessie with John. Snow line starting from the road, but dry powdery snow not causing any real issues with progress. Ascended up beside Allt Airdeasaidh, and then cross said burn and headed up to the bealach between Sail Mhor and Ruigh Meallain, then straight up to the corbett summit. Pastel coloured skies and excellent clarity made for some incredible views in every direction. Was extremely cold on the summit, so descended back down and returned the way we came as we saw no benefit to ascending Ruigh Meallain. Total time 4h 56min. | mproudfoot | 11/03/2023 |
From the car park west of the waterfall at Ardessie. Pleasant walk up by the river. Simple river crossing then up to the rocky east top. A lovely walk up past the shelter cairn and then the smaller summit cairn. A glorious sunny day. A large group of goats were soaking up the sun on the ridge down. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 30/08/2022 |

up the new steps right of the gorge, but the path ends at half height of the waterfalls | jef | 04/05/2022 |
Parked NH 0511 8964 - layby with room for about 12 cars. Path leaves eastern end of layby and is currently being paved (excellent job as found in Lake District) but this is not for the benefit of walkers. Workmen told me it is for workers of Scottish Water who need to access an outlet further up the hill and is for health and safety reasons. Due to finish in 8 weeks. I lost the boggy path shortly after NH 0472 8877 but the walking was easy going. | carole engel | 31/08/2021 |
With Rob Wight. Usual ascent and descent from Arfessie. Lovely weather and sensational 360 degree views. | alexmaclennan | 30/08/2021 |
A long dy. Up the east side of the Ardessie burn, waterfalls were impressive, the oath was not as it deteriorated higher up. On to summit of Sail Mhor where they were 14 or 15 wild goats - they would not stand still to be counted but were content to have me very close to them. I suspect they gather there to be fed or gather scraps. South along ridge to Sgurr Ruadh which I missed in the cloud and had to double back to. Then on to Sgurr Creag an Eich W top and then more easily across good ground to Meall Garbh and dropping west to pick up the extension of the Ardessie burn path - which seemed better going down! | dickscroop | 26/07/2021 |
From Ardessie. The Ardessie burn needed a wade, too much water for a boulder-hop | Rockdoctor | 11/05/2021 |
Parked at the water works at Ardessie. A path from here leads up the west side of the Allt Airdeasaidh which is recommended when its in spate. High winds and bombing rain showers added to the excitement between the sunshine. South to the Dodd. Solo. | bolton | 12/09/2020 |
From Ardessie up fairly inpressive gorge/falls then down via path to Gruinard. Glorious autumn day with a couple of inches of fresh snow | daviemore | 13/11/2019 |
From Ardlessie up E side of river, crossing with difficulty then up steep E flank of hill. Down via coire to S. Very windy on summit, wind chill, showers, some sunshine. | Rounsfell | 13/08/2019 |

Up by the Ardessie Falls path and SE ridge. | davidpettit84 | 29/05/2019 |
Solo after Bidein a' Ghlas Thuill. Jogging across moor mostly quite pleasant, a bit warmer than the day had started, with sun fully out, blue skies, sheltered fr E wind. Top of Sail Mhor itself was cold, and descent tiring after a long excursion, but only annoying thing was leaving a set of gloves & hat somewhere! | NorfolkPT21 | 13/04/2019 |
From Ardressie WTW | Clach Liath | 05/03/2019 |
Followed the West bank of the Allt Airdeasaidh from the layby at the water treatment building. The path ascended pleasantly past waterfalls and a gorge. Snow and ice at the top with clear views but no crampons required. With Kev Jen Dave Pete Maggie. | mindlessflogger | 17/12/2018 |
With Sue from Ardessie via impressive waterfalls. Path poor and wet. Then up SE S shoulder to summits. Often good visibility in occasional rain. Return same way. | Frank | 03/09/2018 |
With M, via stalker's path and round of corrie. River crossing not too bad. Wonderful views of summer isles and Fisherfield wilderness. | douglas_easton | 21/06/2018 |

With everyone on the NUFWAS Ullapool trip. | Grinner | 16/04/2017 |
tedious ascent via deteriorating path by Ardessie Burn. Saw a herd of 8 wild goats near the summit. Intermittent views from summit, better to the east. | oatcake | 22/08/2016 |
Sail Mhor and Ruigh Mheallain from Ardessie. Cloud and rain for much of route. Ruigh Mheallain summit boulder a little more difficult than it looked in the rain. | RobertP | 07/07/2016 |
With Frances. Fair weather and good views. Great views of An Teallach massif and into Fisherfield. We enjoyed watching a herd of wild goats as we descended the hill. | langskill | 06/07/2016 |
Kiera (and Josh) full winter at 200m | Loz_mck | 21/02/2016 |
Walking with 6 friends. Circular from Ardessie. Walked up Eastern slopes of Sail Mhor (767m) onto rocky peak on its East side. Onwards to its true peak, south to saddle point and followed river back to start. Variable weather: showers, sun, wind, rain, snow and hail. | tobywharne | 17/04/2014 |

my final corbett with renee from ardessie good path up river then on to summit. | robertphillips | 21/10/2013 |
Direct up the hillside to the col from the waterworks car park. Used the path for descent after the tump. However, this hill reminded me the reason for hillbagging isn't about maximising the logs on this website. What terrific views of the wilderness - I was spellbound. | Martin R | 14/10/2013 |
From CP at Ardessie water works via path on east side of Allt Airdeasaidh as far as 340m contour, them and SE ridge. Clouds descended and spoiled the view. The path is not in good condition, an ascent direct from CP would probably have been shorter and better. | Topographer57 | 06/08/2013 |
Solo trip | Invicta14 | 24/06/2013 |
with K, M, J on Ullapool trip. Ardessie falls in great condition. Stalkers on hill - agreed to avoid each other. Good hazy views south. a very fine hill | niallp | 01/10/2012 |
From lay-by next to waterworks at Ardessie, with JK, KM and NP. Some sunshine, but also much rain. Encountered stalking party, but friendly! Somewhat tricky river crossing over Allt Airdeasaidh. Stunning views into the Great Wilderness. | Man of Kernow1 | 01/10/2012 |
unfortunately cloud covered on top but mild and benign and saw two Ptarmigan on top. the day before a glorious epic on An Teallach for the second time as prep for my final Munro party on Monday next 3rd Sept. | vegibagger | 29/08/2012 |
Al & Jamie's 1st Corbett. | Bongonog | 01/06/2012 |

Left car at Dundonnell, bike to Ardessie. River in spate so went up W side direct to Sail Mhor. Clear on top, later mist and rain. Cont to An Teallach W ridge, bypassing Sg Ruadh on N (very steep end), over Sg Creag and Eich to Sg Fiona. Cont Sg Fiona. | dbb | 24/05/2006 |
