From Black Bridge (A835) with John. On MTB up the track through Strath Vaich and to a high point (around 360m) on the track on the east side of graham Meall a' Chaorainn. Dumped the bikes and continued on foot down into Gleann Beag, crossed the bridge and ascended up the zig zag stalkers path - generally heading NW. At about 700m, the stalkers path disappeared so we continued N then E up onto the broad ridge and then continued over peak 838m onto the main summit at 845m. Descended same route and back to bikes to cycle back out to black bridge. 30mins of rain at the start, but soon settled into a dry but cool and cloudy day. Total times: 1h 33m cycle in; 4h 20m walking (including lunch on summit); 1h 12m cycle out. | mproudfoot | 30/09/2023 |
Solo in Low cloud. Cycled all the way up Gleann Beag from Black Bridge, took a track to side of river, and then used faint tracks and GPS to find the Cairn | alexmaclennan | 24/09/2023 |

From Blackwater car park. With Heather, Rhona, Heather's brother and son Neil. By bike to 354 842. Up a good zig zag stalkers path to plateau then South Top and easy walking on to Carn Ban. Back via the two south tops and descend to Loch Sruban More. Another excellent stalkers path down and then return on estate track to bikes. Use OS 1:25,000 as these paths are shown clearly. 29.5 miles total including cycling. | DampandDusty | 28/05/2022 |
Cycle from Duag Bridge (Schoolhouse Bothy) to impassible ford at NH 292 912. Left bike and walked up river and forded NH300 897 thigh deep! Ascended to summit over sodden ground in pouring rain. Descent via similar rout to Choire Mor bothy for cup of tea with two Polish girls. Reforded river at same point, collected the bike and returned to Duag Bridge. | John Lee | 27/05/2022 |

DR. Glen Calvie Lodge to Gleann Beag by MTB. Stalkers path to Loch Sruban Mors & then contoured hillside to Carn Ban returning over two south tops. Fine, warm & sunny spells. | Vin | 14/09/2021 |
Third day of a multi day bivi round. Started from bivi just above top of Cadha Dearg, on to Creag an Duine which took me rather by surprise, a good scramble up and a harder scramble down the same side. Then back to normality with gentle walks up Creag Iobhair, out to Carn Loch Sruban Mor, back to Creggan a Chait and Carn
Ban for an early bivi. | dickscroop | 22/07/2021 |
R 31 miles inc MTB bike in. grim weather clagged on top | Richard Tait | 08/07/2021 |
Bike from Glencalvie Lodge parking, 1:45 to bridge one mile west of Deanich Lodge. Fairly good stalkers path, boggy on the level stretch at 520m, peters out above 650m. Peat hags around 760m mercifully dry today, otherwise good going. Over the south top on the way. Awesome spacious views of Assynt, Coigach, Seana Braigh, Ben Dearg, Wyvis. Returned by same route, 1:05 of which on the bike (mostly downhill, tailwind). | Owen B | 22/06/2021 |
From Black bridge, longer cycle but I prefer it. Stopped at water collection dam below waterfall, 35546 84410. Super stalkers path to 500m. Up over minor tops to west, back down Allt Bheargais to stalkers path cairn and home. Return route is full of peat hags, glad it was dry. | iangalbraith | 08/06/2021 |

Ban and Tharsuinn after cycling up from NE. Old path up from 355843, swampy in places, rises to 600m then series of small cairns up to main ridge avoids the worst of the rough ground and hags. | Topographer57 | 23/07/2019 |

Walked from Black Bridge up Strathvaich and then excellent stalkers path onto the actual hill. Stunning views today - Western Isles, all the Assynt and Coigach hills, Ben Hope and Klibreck and south to Ben Rhinnes. Walked out under the light of the moon (and latterly my head torch). 11 hour walk but highly enjoyable. | benalder284 | 18/11/2018 |

With M. Long (16km+) cycle from Black Bridge, then nice stalkers path to ridge. Storm on top, but otherwise weather mostly behaved. | douglas_easton | 16/06/2017 |
A nice walk from Corriemulzie Lodge, along the track. The river was a bit high, but there's a wooden bridge, quite hard to spot, exactly as marked on the map. This attempt to keep my feet dry was pretty futile however, as the ground over Meall an Daimh Bhig towards the bealach below Craggan a'Chait is very rough and boggy! This is compensated by very easy walking over Carn Ban. It was a bit misty but enough views to make the whole walk very enjoyable. Since my feet were wet anyway, I walked back via the bothy, the track and through the rivers. The views of Seana Braigh and Coire Mor are awesome. Estate notes: the people at this estate are really nice! You can drive along the track from Oykel Bridge (carefully, it's rough), they provide a walkers car park and they reply very nicely if you email to ask about stalking - about which they seem to be very flexible, even though they start in July. The stalkers are very nice too when you meet them. | Gill | 30/07/2016 |

MC JC. Cycled in from Black Bridge in smirry weather with a cold wind. Took overnight rucksacks and stayed in Gleann Beg Bothy. Had a good fire. Awoke to a beautiful morning with no wind and blue skies. Crossed the river and took a slanting line to drop the sacks off at Loch Sruban Mord. Nice walk to summit. Cycled back in rising rtemperatures. Sunburned in time for evening wedding! | Martin66 | 29/04/2006 |
Biked from Alladale- great views to west; Suilven etc 4 hr 45 | dmckeith | 02/11/2004 |
Day 3 of a Freevater/ Beinn Dearg trek. We walked from Coire Mor bothy to Glenbeg bothy above Toll Lochan, over Carn Ban, and down using an excellent path from Loch Sruban Mora. A logical link to get back to Glenbeg and our supplies finished up being a great day's walk, distance views on a cloudless day, Dunlins and Dotterels on the stony S ridge of the Ma and the crags just above Gleann Beag alive with Ring Ouzels. We could loose access to this wonderful area if a vanity project to turn it into a zoo for wolves is resurrected. Be vigilant!! | pwheeler | 27/05/2004 |
