From Innerwick car park with John and the dogs (Millie's first corbett). Returned to road, across the bridge, and took the path signposted to Loch Rannoch. Followed track through forest, then took zig zag track up to edge of forest and then made our way directly up the hill (intermittent track) to about 700m, then directly E to Beinn Dear's summit. Snow covered mountain views in all directions from the summit - but a bitter wind had us leaving the top very soon after arriving. Descended back down to around 700m and then headed S then SE across some rough/peaty terrain to minor peak Creag Ard (741m) before countouring around and down WSW to the southern edge of the forest, to meet the track we started on, near the monument. Good day out with blue skies and light snow - the frozen bogs probably helped too. Total time 3h 33min | mproudfoot | 26/12/2023 |
Parked at Innerwick 1/3 for the day | Fellhugger | 12/09/2023 |
From Bridge of Balgie car park with Meall a'Mhuic, clockwise. First and last hours lovely weather, heavy showers in between. No clag though. Hags bad on Dearg. | Rounsfell | 10/05/2023 |

With Sue from Innerwick. Used bikes as far as Corie Odhar before steep estate track to hut then walk to summit via SW track to ridge then N to summit Cam Chreag. Decent to above Innerwick and river crossing to steeply ascend track after leaving bikes near river through woods to open hill and E to summit of Beinn Dearg. Return same way to bikes and ride back to start. Excellent views but getting hot. | Frank | 12/07/2022 |
Circuit from Innerwick. Sunny, cold wind. | thekirkie pirate | 20/04/2022 |
From Innerwick up forestry tracks to corner of plantation then more less due east over shallow Bealach onto summit dome. Rain held off and summit was clear; all surrounding Munros in cloud. Reversed route to return | Rockdoctor | 30/12/2021 |
From Innerwick in Glen Lyon, N from war memorial along the track to Loch Rannoch, branching up through the forest at NN586495 to the forest edge, then roughly E across moorland (helped by track near old fence line) to featureless summit area of Beinn Dearg, descending W following old fence line again, then turning S to follow ridge out to Creag Ard's featureless summit, descended steeply SW back to road via gate through new deer fence at NN590475 | kdbennett | 25/09/2021 |
Solo MTB Innerwick. Steep estate track to to edge of forest. Walk to summit via trackless heathery ground. Fast decent to river confluence and then up track to
Cam Chreag. | John Lee | 17/07/2021 |
The ascent of Corbetts Cam Chreag and Beinn Dearg from Innerwick. Also visiting, Meall nam Maigheach and Creag Ard. 26km with 1500m ascent in 8h 40m. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 30/05/2021 |
A forestry track helpfully climbs from Pt. 196 half a km west of Camusvrachan to the SE flank of Beinn Dearg. Its quite a steep climb up the flank, but with pretty good terrain and the winter sun on our backs it quickly got us to the summit. We then followed the high ground to Creag Ard, the fresh snow adding interest to an otherwise quite haggy route. Descended down Creag Ard's narrowing SE ridge to the forest line, following the forestry fence back to the road and car. Just shy of 3hrs, coffee in the Red Deer cafe as reward. | summitter | 06/12/2020 |
Innerwick to Invervar - on the way up the 4 Munros to E. | quadbarrel | 22/10/2020 |
From Meall a Mhuic. Fairly good ground down to cross the stream at 500m, then mostly grassy reasonable ground to Meall Glas. Fairly good path from there on easy ground along an old fence line. Was intending to go SW down the open hillside back to Innerwick, but picked up a good ATV track below point 703, thinking it would go somewhere useful. Unfortunately it led to the edge of the plantation and no further. 300 metres of at times full on forestry bashing led to a good forestry track, from there easily back to Innerwick. | Owen B | 21/09/2020 |
Followed the track from Innerwick firstly on the Lairig to Rannoch, then through the forestry before striking off across boggy country towards the summit. Picked up an at track which took us a third of the way between the summit and Craig Ard. Crossed the peat hags on the col and up towards the summit, before extending our day by circling round to Craig Ard for views down Glen Lyon. Descended in a direct line towards car park skirting fields and avoiding some steep grass slopes | kenmorti | 16/08/2020 |
From Innerwick via the forest track rising through the plantation, an ATV track to the col, then up easy slopes to Beinn Dearg, back to the col and out Creag Ard, before descending steeply to the road a few hundred yards east of Innerwick. | Nick Down1 | 12/06/2020 |
From Innerwick via forest track and up western slopes. | davidpettit84 | 20/04/2019 |

Took the tent down for an early start to beat the rain. Did not quite make it nut not as bad as forecast. From the church in Glen Lyon to Craig Aird; Beinn Dearg and over to Meall a Mhuic. Return track due S did not seem to exist though the two on either side clearly did. | dickscroop | 24/08/2018 |

With Yeltzbagger. ketzster went to climb Cam Chreag and Meall a'Mhuic then met us to take me down while Yeltzbagger went to climb Meall a'Mhuic on his own. It was misty, he got a bit lost com uing down and we went mad at him when he got back to Innerwick. | Stevie n Tay | 12/08/2016 |
With Stevie n Tay. ketzster had climbed Cam Chreag and Meall a'Mhuic before meeing us on the way down from Beinn Dearg. I went off on my own to climb Meall a'Mhuic. Thoroughly enjoyed myslef despite getting lost in the rain and mist coming down and losing the gloves I had bought specially the year before to climb the In Pinn. ketzster and Stevie n Tay went mad at me when I got back to Innerwick because they were worried I had taken so long... | Yeltzbagger | 12/08/2016 |
Creag Ard, Beinn Dearg, Meall a' Mhuic, Meall nam Maigheach and Cam Chreag from Innerwick. Spell of rain during second half of the route, but earlier some good views acorss to Lawers and Tarmachan range. | RobertP | 06/08/2016 |
From Innerwick up south ridge to Meall a' Mhuic, then straight across to Beinn Dearg | Gallovidian | 28/02/2016 |
A nice walk for a day with a poor afternoon forecast. By the conventional route from Innerwick, in decent snow conditions. It was fairly easy going thanks to a vehicle track leading from the forestry onto the ridge, though it would probably be a bit of a bog fest without snow. | Gill | 12/02/2016 |
Better day than forecasted with Ron Wight, Holly and Lily. From Innerwick taking in 2 corbetts and a graham. 7 1/2 hours | alexmaclennan | 28/07/2015 |

With Mora, from Innerwick | BLACKHILL | 17/05/2014 |
After compleating in 2012 decided to go for corbetts and grahams and I have to say I am actually enjoying them more. They are usually peaceful, less tracks and cloud seems to locate the bigger peaks around them. It was this peak where this really sank in. Company: Jake the Black Lab. | iandesbottes | 08/10/2013 |

Climbed along with Meall a'Mhuic (Graham) from Innerwick in Glen Lyon. Companion was Jim Bull. Weather was a fine drizzel with a low cloud base. Walking conditions not that good with a mixture of peat hags and clumps of grass to contend with. Picked up go | dscargill | 19/09/2010 |
