Sgurr Dhomhnuill, Sgurr a' Chaorainn and Beinn na h-Uamha with John and Jon (and Alfie the retriever). Traverse from Ariundle Forest car park to Sallachan (car on either side). Bigger day than anticpated with some steep rough terrain - particularly the drop off Sgurr na h-Ighinn where we dropped about 100m to find we couldn't find a route down through the crags, so had to reascend to the top to find another route down. Expected duration was arounds 8h - but we got back to Sallochy after 9h 20min, with head torches on. Tough day. | mproudfoot | 04/11/2023 |

E / W traverse, track down W ridge quite faint. | BaggerGutt | 18/06/2022 |
A good round from the Ariundle car park. Biked up to just short of the track ork (about 4km), continued past lead mine workings before crossing stream to head east to Sgurr na h-ighinn. Don't think it matters too much where you cross the stream, no obvious line but no obvious difficulties either. Round over Sgurr Dhomhnuill and Druim Garbh. Came down ridge about 1km and dropped off se on easy grass to valley and back out. A good day. | dickscroop | 31/07/2021 |
From the high point of the minor road WSW, convenient parking. Reasonable ground eastwards skirting around the north of Druim Glas. Contoured along the main glen at about 370m,fairly good going up to about 650m, then picked a line between outcrops steeply and directly to the summit. | Owen B | 25/05/2021 |
With: hb; From wildcamp by upper Feith Dhomhnuill up to Glas Bealach, then up steep N ridge to summit. Stunning views. Descended S over Sgurr na h-Ighinn, down W ridge then contoured round to Bealach Mam a'Bhearna. | Ian Baines | 19/05/2021 |

From the Ariundle Woods Car park near Strontian - Good track through woodland rising to the disused Fee Donald Lead Mines. Walked North along West bank of Allt Feith Dhomhnuill crossing above the Waterfall the east along the valley base our goal now in full view. Climbed onto flank of Sgurr na h-lghinn where a gully takes us up to the 682 spot height south of the summit. From here the final climb to the snowy 888m summit. Descended sane way but followed the ridge of Druim Leac Sgiathain. | briandavies | 29/04/2021 |
From P at Ariundle Oakwood NNR. Sgurr Dhomhnuill then Sgurr na h-Ighinn. Quite a day out. With Bolton. | ger | 21/10/2019 |
From the Ariundle car park. A very pleasant walk up to the old lead mines then over Drum Leac a'Sgiathain and its ups and downs. An easy rake to the north of Sgurr na h- Ighinn goes to the col then a steep climb to the summit with Ger. | bolton | 21/10/2019 |

Great wind shelter on the summit. But could not find the trig. Steep descent to Druim Garbh, but dry conditions underfoot so not too dodgy. | summitter | 06/05/2017 |
Followed the miners track through the ancient oak woods to the mines. Couldn't cross the river as no footbridge and river was in spate, so walked up the valley to the col south of the summit. It was extremely windy here and thought about turning back, but after a rest behind a rock, went on and discovered the final ridge was very sheltered and enjoyable. Saw two golden eagles on the way back. With Pete and Jill | mindlessflogger | 20/02/2017 |
With M. Long walk over undulating ridge, with steep drop and climb to finish. | douglas_easton | 23/05/2016 |
Horseshoe route over Sgurr Dhomhnuill from high point in road to W. Complex route to Meall Loachan Mhic Gille Dhuibh, more easily to Druim Garbh, descent to col then very steep ascent to summit of Sgurr Dhomhnuill. Continued S along ridge to Sgurr Na h-Ighinn and descent W over Druim Leac a'Sgiathain then traverse to start point. Cold breeze but clouds above the tops. | RobertP | 12/04/2016 |
From Arundle car park (10:20) cycled up track to 855654 (near ruin by river)(10:50). Climbed to upper track & old mine, then up ridge over Sg na h-Iguinn (12:50), down to col and up to Sg Dhomhnuill (13:25). Lovely day, fine views. Returned to col then descended E down steep grassy slope keeping R of burn to cross glen. Then traversed L, then up to col & broad rocky ridge to quartzite cairn on B na h-Uamha (15:45). Retraced steps westward and traversed Sg a Chaorainn (17:05), descending WNW down to col. Down SW to glen and followed river back to bike (18:40) and car (19:10). Fabulous long day in glorious weather with views to outer Hebs & Schiehallion. | dbb | 14/06/2015 |
Ariundle - lead mine - Sgurr Dhomhnuill - Sgurr na h-Ighinn - Sgurr a' Chaorainn - Beinn na h-Uamha - contour around Sgurr a' Chaorainn - Glen Strontian - Ariundle | davidpettit84 | 05/04/2015 |
Lovely walk up through Ariundle woodlands, over Sgurr na h-Ighinn and working our way up the slopes to the top of Sgurr Dhomhnuill. We were going to descend the NW ridge but tricky ground in the teeth of a gale did not appeal so we went back down S and descended to Ariundle from the col, just an occasional buffeting there. | pwheeler | 22/05/2014 |
Very pleasant out and back route from Ariundle. The forest at lower level is lovely. | bowlesy | 09/05/2014 |
BK. Bealach spot 342m to Druim Glas, Druim Garbh, spot 803m, Sgurr Dhomhnuill & return. Good wintery day with SD covered in water ice (crampons & ice axe useful). | Vin | 22/11/2013 |

Perfect autumn day. Long walk-in from Ariundle car park, past the lead mines. then on upstream and onto a ledge to reach a minor col 400m south of the summit. Up, back to col and on to Sgurr a'Chaorainn. | Topographer57 | 11/10/2013 |
From Ariundle through the very pleasant woodlands with Shaky up to the old lead mine workings. Scaled Drium Leac a' Sgiathain & continued to Sgurr na h-Ighinn before dropping down to the col & ascending Sgurr Dhomhnuill using a variety of minor paths. It seems that cattle had been driven all the way up the ridge given the way in which the ground had been churned up, although we didn't see any all day. Returned the same way except for passing underneath Sgurr na h-Ighinn. | NotReallyABagger | 08/08/2013 |
Misty ascent. Never seen cows so high up a mountain before. | KevPalmer | 17/07/2013 |
