Up Foss Mine track almost to the top of Meall Tairneachan, steeply down eastwards to rejoin track, through the now disused mine area and on almost to the end of the track. Faint and intermittent path to Farragon Hill then straight back via the track to the start. All quite straightforward. | TRG318 | 08/11/2023 |
Parked at the Limekiln carpark and walked up the fence line then followed the wall | Fellhugger | 11/09/2023 |

5 of 6: From Ciochan a Chop. With Karen. | ChrisR | 13/05/2023 |
From B846 up the quarry track. Persistent snowfall battled with deep fresh snow when leaving track (hut and toilet huts) passed on route to trig. Contrast to first visit sweltering hot day and a plague of flies. | N.Morters | 14/01/2023 |
Solo Meall Tairneachan & Farragon Hill from the B846. Took the track to the mine (via the Meall Tairneachan summit), and then the faint track and path up Farragon Hill, then back the same way. The mine was quiet (Sunday) so was able to walk through the middle of it with no issues. Cloudy with sunny spells, and fairly gusty on Farragon Hill. Total time 4h 22min. | mproudfoot | 07/08/2022 |
From side of road to Tummel Bridge, then on to Farragon Hill, sunburnt. Back to car in 5:55. | colazione | 09/07/2022 |
Meall Tarneachan and Farragon Hill from the layby opposite the entrance to the Foss mine. Easy ascent of Meall Tairneachan, a cairn marks the point where a path leaves the mine road for the summit | Gary Heath | 31/05/2022 |
Fifth visit, on TGOC22 | Colin Crawford | 19/05/2022 |
With Farragon from Tummel. Cycled from Pitlochry to Netherton, used tracks for both hills, cut down over Doire Leathan to track through forestry to Frenich. Shower in morning at Perth station, but dry while I was out and sunny too. Below zero above 600m and a scattering of snow. Met one couple at summit of Farragon. | Rounsfell | 03/01/2022 |

Along the mine track from the Forestry Scotland CP North of the Keltney Pass, cutting across damp heather to Ciochan a'Chop, following the low ridge across to the summit of Meall Tairneachan, visiting Creag an Chananaich, Meal a'Bhealach and the South and North summits of Creag and Loch from the mine track and traversing below Meall Tairneachan to its West Top and Meall Odhar Mor. The deer fence en route to the track can be crossed at the locked gate where two fencelines meet: you can either climb or wiggle under the wooden fence by the gate. Panoramic views from all these tops. | Nick Down1 | 06/10/2021 |
Solo MTB from Limekiln car park after Farragon Hill. Good mine track almost to summit. Walked 300m to top. Decent via same route. | John Lee | 14/07/2021 |

Stunning snowy walk from quarry entry along the mine road Meall Tairneachan and Farragon, down to track and onto mine road and on to strathtay. (seemed a better option when looking at out and back). Really nice walk in fantastic views to schehallion and Ben Lawers to the south and Beinn a'Ghlo to the north. 15 miles in 6hrs 10 with deep snow at times | Nicky C | 30/12/2020 |
