Followed the WH route and parked down in the glen; did see a car parked at the summit of the Hydro road over to Glen Lyon with a tent next to it, but as I fancied the exercise I didn’t mind that I walked it all too much. Cold, wintry showers, and plenty wet snow on wet grass to make for slower going. Very knolly and indistinct hill. 13.5km, 3h 40 | Rockdoctor | 23/03/2024 |
Parked at 477369. Walked past the farm and up the deteriorating road to the high point. Headed directly to the summit following the boundary line. With Mntainman. | bolton | 07/01/2023 |
From Pubil. In mist. Went to wrong top to start with. In afternoon after doing the 2 Corbetts to the North of the loch in the AM. | davechaffey | 01/12/2022 |
From carpark in Glen Lochay, longer approach than 25yrs ago when you could drive the road to Glen Lyon. Autumn heavy clouds occasional light shower but generally fine day. | N.Morters | 08/10/2022 |
From roadhead carpark east of Kenknock. Up old road until it levelled off around 495m. Then northwards up mostly grassy slopes to summit. Reversed route in descent. Confusing knobbly terrain around summit. | KeithByTheC | 26/07/2022 |
At the OMC cottage for a meet this weekend, on Sunday I drove round to Kenknock in Glen Lochay with Louise Waters, Laura King and Clare Andrews.

We headed up the private track which heads over to Glen Lyon, we left the track once past the lochan as a fence crosses the track. Several bumps on top, just it as an opportunity for some navigation training for the others. Once on the summit did a circuit of the bumps then dropped down to Lairig Liaran before wading through bracken as we dropped down back to the car park.

Decent views on top with the higher hills on cloud, 05:15hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 03/07/2022 |
With Sue from Kenknock car park in Glen Lochay. Walked up the road then uphill on the often pot holed road/track. Just past the lochan we went directly up between the small crags to the South Top first before reaching the Corbett. Dry start but ended a wet day. | Frank | 30/04/2022 |
From car park E of Kenknock (ca NN476368), walked past Kenknock, up road towards Glen Lyon, left road heading NE upslope opposite Lochan Learg nan Lunn, followed compass in mist, guided by an old fence line, through various knolls to summit of Meall nan Subh, descended back to the road slightly further N, crossed the valley (climbing a gate to cross a deer fence) and climbed up a gully heading SW to the N ridge of Creag nam Bodach (climbing a deer fence to leave the enclosure I had just climbed into), followed that to the summit, then descended S/SE to the higher Glen Lochay track (at NN455366), climbing another deer fence, thence back to the Glen Lyon road and back to Kenknock parking (5h) | kdbennett | 24/01/2022 |
From the col ( 505m ) on the road below. Road is gated ( unlocked ) and drivable with care from the Glen Lochay side. Dodged the rain & had fine views. | DanMaisieBex | 25/10/2021 |
With John and his little dog Islay - a corbett/munro duo of Meall nan Subh and Meall Ghaordaidh, with cars parked in each hill's usual parking spot. Started with partial blue skies but ended up in the clag, with constant drizzle, 30-40mph winds and a wind-chill of around -6c on the summits. Probably go down as one of my least favourite walks of 2021, but still - another pair of hills ticked off. Total distance 12.85mi, ascent 1380m and car-to-car time: 6h 17min. | mproudfoot | 02/10/2021 |

From Pubil, Glen Lyon. | Robinho08 | 25/07/2021 |
The ascent of Corbett Meall nan Subh and its South Top from Glen Lochay. Thought could not drive up to pass, as it said authorised vehicles only - but saw 2 vehicles up there! 13km with 670m ascent in 3h 30m. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 04/06/2021 |
Up the track from Glen Lochay. At the second gate headed up a snow-covered ATV track to a fence. Reached a county boundary marker and then zig-zagged in a NW direction to Meall nan Subh South Top then main summit. Good fun in sunlit snow, perhaps less fun normally as looks pretty boggy underfoot. Reversed the route home. | summitter | 29/12/2020 |
Having done the two Pubil Corbetts decided to check out the minor road to the bealach west of this Corbett. No signs saying the road was private. A couple of very poor sections where the asphalt has completely broken up, the worst of it at the Pubil end, but passable with care. Plenty of parking at the top. Then a pathless trudge on a rough and lumpy hill to the attractive summit. | Owen B | 20/09/2020 |
a gentle run with Tam | TamCollie | 19/09/2020 |
With John. First Corbett in over a year! Grand day sunshine and brief showers. Lots of wee birds and wild flowers. Great views from top. | Veryhappybunny | 20/07/2020 |
Walked up the road from the Kenknock car park in Glen Lochay. Walked directly up to the South Top first before reaching the Corbett. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 19/10/2019 |
Short climb from the top of the pass. | iansm | 14/06/2019 |
From Kenknock. Ascended by track then up southwestern slopes to Meall nan Subh. Descended west and back down the track. | davidpettit84 | 05/01/2019 |
from Pubil - circuit up road then off northerly from hill | rdhumble | 23/09/2018 |
From car at Dalchoirich Farm to bike on (tarmac) track at west end. Meall na Cnap Laraich; Meall Touraigh; Sron Eanchainne (not easy to find looking down on it); Meall nan Subh; Creag nam Bodach; Meall a Chall and down to bike. A pretty featureless road so it took me 40 minutes to find where I had left the bike! - which made it a longish day. | dickscroop | 25/08/2018 |
From Kenknock car park. Things are changing on this estate; driving on the hydroboard road is discouraged, and tellingly no one was starting walks from up the road. There is also a big woodland restoration project 'The Forest of Mamlorn'. Be aware of new deer fences, required for this laudable initiative. So we walked along it to the top and wound our way up Meall nan Subh, then back over its S top and returned to the road via Creag Fagiarch. This gave an interesting hour on high ground and a surprisingly pleasant descent to where the deer fence meets the road. The changes in access gave us a much more enjoyable walk than we had anticipated today, having to work out an alternative to simply bagging from the bealach. With Pete. This was my 2000th Tump. | pwheeler | 28/05/2018 |
Short hill walk whilst up at Loch for Glen Lyon ultra | little al | 06/05/2018 |
From Pubil. Having bagged Meall Buidhe and Sron a' Choire Chnapanich, decided to try this Corbett. Some ice fields had to be climbed but nothing hard. Top area covered in snow and under an amazing sun, the place looked sublime as only my foot prints spoilt the view. Only took 2hr 15 min. | Jhimmy | 01/04/2018 |
Stargazing weekend with Wooly. Campervan at Lyon dam. Ascent from top of Lyon/Lochay road. | John Lee | 19/11/2017 |

From Glen Lochay via SE ridge, long grass, bracken and high fences. Warning: access to the high road pass from Glen Lochay is defended by an NAV notice on a lockable gate. Returned via high pass and a road descent. | Topographer57 | 16/09/2016 |

From the top of the pass. | Lionel Bidwell | 15/05/2016 |
A damp and windy day, so this was the perfect short walk. I managed to get the car up to about 480 m on the old road before the pot holes couldn't be dodged. It's an interesting hill, with little knolls all over the plateau, and the going is surprisingly easy. | Gill | 04/05/2016 |
Used the road all the way up Glen Lyon. Easy climb to summit from it. However rewarded with some great views of Glen Lyon. Company: Jake the Black Lab. | iandesbottes | 20/10/2015 |
