From car park at Loch Moraig. Followed WH route at the start via Shinigag, over Creag nan Gobhar, diverted via HHB Carn Dubh, Ben Vuirich, then over the Simm of stac nam Bodach. Stayed high on he ridge before descending to path and crossing the river to follow the good path back. 24km 5h 50Rockdoctor27/08/2023
From Monzie car park (meter broken) after sleeping in van on Loch Rannoch-side. Started in mist which cleared before Shinagag. Biked there, walked the rest out-and-back. Met another walker at summit doing exactly the same thing (his bike at Shinagaig too). Had been a rainy night and got very wet from puddles on bike, and from bogs and full burns when walking. Morton's bad in right foot. Rounsfell09/07/2023
I'm surprised the southern route isn't more appreciated. There's some bog, but no problem in a dry summer (or presumably in snow). We went up the track past the big new house at Tarvie, and then along the ridge to Carn Dubh. Down the other ridge to Crungie Clach before diving left, at the next col, to the track to Clunskea.Pete R08/07/2023
Solo from Loch Moraig - up the track commonly used for Beinn a Ghlo, and took an anti-clockwise route through Shinagag, then ascending to Creag nan Gobhar, over to the corbett summit and then WNW descent down to the track to return back out. Was snowing for much of the walk, and decent wind chill at top, but ground conditions remained ok - no need to break out the spikes. Total time 5h 22min.mproudfoot26/12/2022
Parked NO 051639. Bike on tarmac to NO 032693. Tarmac breaking up with lots of potholes but still easy biking.carole engel16/10/2022
Cycle from Pitlochry to Straloch and on to Daldhu. Left bike at track side and walk to summit via Carn Dubh. return to bike and cycled up Alt Glen Loch to watershed and down Allt Coirre Lagain. Fantastic views to Ben a Ghlo. Great single track down the glen to Shinagag (track a bit vague near shieling). Track then road to Bridge of Tilt, Blair Athol, Killiecrankie and Old Smiddy in Pitlochry. Great mountain day.John Lee11/08/2022
With Sue on a very early start from a very busy Loch Moraig. Biked on track leaving bikes beyond Shinagag under Carn Briac. We continued along the track and across lumpy open ground towards belach of Creag nan Gobhar and Ben Vuirich. We returned following a small burn to SE of Loch Valigan and a track to start. Very hot 27 but excellent all round views.Frank10/07/2022

Started from Clunskea on the A924 (10:00), which seems a very good way to this hill. The track up the glen is good and there is a faint ATV track for the last few hundred metres before the ground starts rising to Creag Chlacharnach. After a dry month there was no bog. The route via point 667 and along the ridge was pretty trackless but going wasn't too hard; after Creag nan Gobhar there is a narrow path. There was some drizzle and views were limited. Returned by the same route; finished 15:45.dbb04/09/2021
As summitter's route on the way up, bagging Creag Chlacharnach and Creag nan Gobhar on the way. Returned fairly quickly on a similar route to avoid forecast thundery showers, but avoiding Creag Chlacharnach to the east, making for a good descent on good heather then grass back to the grassy track. Still quite dry underfoot despite recent rain.Owen B11/07/2021
Solo. I parked at Loch Moraig and then used my new e-bike for the approach, stopping at a wood close to the sheilings at Shinagag. I continued along a track passing under Carn Breac and then across lumpy open ground towards Ben Vuirich. I returned via Creag nan Gobhar.langskill08/06/2021
With Iain and Andy. Cycled in from Straloch on a good road (plenty roadside parking ). 5 hour dayslynch21/04/2021
A pleasant grassy track from Clunskea follows the delightful burn of the same name until petering out about 2km shy of Creag Chlacharnach. After an initial squelchy stretch of boggy ground, drier, rockier, heathery ground provides an easy climb to the summit, then a narrow path leads on to Creag nan Gobhar and Ben Vuirich. A recent dusting of snow enhanced both the Ben and surrounding larger hills, but a cold wind gave little time for dallying. Carn Dubh then the much lower Meall Daimheidh were quickly bagged before the asphalt track through Gleann Fearnach presented a straightforward way back to the A924.summitter27/03/2021

From Loch Moraig by tracks to near Shinagag, continuing along deteriorating track past Meall Breac, and on to Creag nan Gobhar, then along ridge to Ben Vuirich, descending SW past Loch Valigan to Meall Breac, descending S to join outward track and back to Loch Moraig.kdbennett21/07/2019
A round of three Graham tops and the Corbett from tent near head of Glen Fearnach. Biked in a short way until the ways split then along track and up to Beinn Bheag(Gt),crossed back south to Meall Bhreac(Gt) down past lochan to Stac nam Bodach(Gt) and finally to Ben Vuirich and down north back to bike. A fine day in excellent weather.dickscroop15/05/2019

One of my first, hard work, a long loop, not great weather, bog semi-frozen!mike__riley08/02/2018
With Mora, from Glen Brerachan, there is a track and path from Tarvie all the way to summit but you will need to sneak round the big house.BLACKHILL07/07/2017

A great walk from Loch Moraig. Easy walking with fine views of Beinn a'Ghlo and Ben Vrackie on the track to Shinigag, which is a lovely green oasis in the wilderness. The track goes a long way up the hill and then spits you out in the middle of a massive bog. There's a sort of broad ridge that leads along to the hill, and snow made the going reasonably easy through the various peat hags, bog pools and lanky heather. This was followed by an easy climb on snow and the reward of great views from the summit. Back the same way. A fine sunset and the 2016 super moon gave wonderful light effects during the walk out.Gill12/11/2016
Dedicated to my Mum, which would have been her 91st birthday. Originally was going to use a MTB, but being nice and sunny I was enticed to walk it. Long route. Parked at Loch Moraig, to Shinagag, track faded so headed up Carn Dubh. Flat top. Descended North West and was met by 100+ deer running past. Very long return.Jhimmy04/06/2016

MC JC. Cycled from Loch Moraig along a decent track and dropped the bikes off just beyond Shinagag. Beautiful warm day with a cool breeze from the E. Lots of lapwings. Hard going from Meall Breac to the summit over bog and then deep spongy heather. 2h 30. First trip out after RTW trip.Martin6629/04/2007
