SMMC meet to Braemar. Up by path from Braemar. Down by track with road return to Braemar.clashcityrocker14/03/2024
Due to the high winds decided not to go on to the Cairngorm plateau. Walked up from Braemar village centre and followed the minor road along Clunie Water to the golf club. From there picked up the track to the summit. Above 600 metres very windy. Cracking summit with extensive views. Found shelter behind radio hut and took it in it was a bit of a sun trap. Returned via Duck Pond. Time taken 2 hours 50 minutes although I did spend 30 minutes on top. Distance 5.75 miles.isabelle06/10/2023

Icy ascent, roads slippy and paths treacherous so I wore microspikes the whole way. Mostly in mist but one glimpse of Lochnagar, a 'snowbow' on top, and hazy glimpses of Bhuird and the high Cairngorms.NorfolkPT2120/12/2021

From the centre of Braemar, followed Linn of Dee Road then left up Chapel Brae before following signposted track/path just past the duck pond all the way to the summit of Morrone. Parked at the duck pond, Braemar, up to the summit and relay station and straight back. Had tried to cycle up Glen Ey in the morning, but was blown off my bike twice so turned back. Visit Colonels bed in Glen Ey 'enjoyable'. Had lunch at ski centre then climbed Morronechillyman815/09/2019

Walked solo, though met an American chap on the descent. Simple circuit from Braemar village centre via excellent path past view indicator and up north ridge to radio-mast decorated summit. Excellent views of surrounding grander mountains with Ben Avon and Lochnagar prominent. Followed service track south over South Top and descending easily to the east to meet the Old Military Road and return to Braemar. Weather mostly bright but with some light showers. No mist. Time 3 hours. A good one for a late afternoon arrival in Braemar!jamessteel10010/08/2019
