Mount Battock from Glen Esk, Walkhighlands route | hummusg | 01/01/2024 |
With E. A sunny day but chilly wind on higher ground meant we didn't linger at summit. From small car park in Millden, note telephone box has been removed. Past Mill of Aucheen and Muir Lodge along estate tracks via Black Crag, where track really rises up steeply, over Wester Cairn to summit. Return via Hill of Saughs, Hill of Turret, across Burn of Turret to rejoin outward track back to car park. | Beeliner | 13/09/2023 |

With L for 15 windy miles in glorious winter sun in sub zero temps . From Birse Chapel road end. Perfect dry smooth path (Fungle)to col and up frozen bogs to summit of Mudlee Bracks to join the fine gravel 'motorway size' track pretty much the whole way - wore trail shoes- half running when we could - switchback route over Mudlee Bracks and Mill of Cammie. NW freezing wind was 14 mph in valley but was a constant 47mph on summit (measured by a fellow walker in summit wind shelter) Rather excitingly this just qualified as No 9 out of 12 as a Strong / Severe Gale on the Baeufort Scale (47-54mph) which required a fun determined battle on upper slope to and from cairn -linking arms helped. Returned same way into wind for a full body workout -body and arms as well as legs pushing against the wind. Left side of my face went numb - felt like Id been to the dentist. Fantastic 5 and half hours outing. | Chris Pearson | 18/01/2020 |
Trail run, & Clachnaben | Huwel | 30/10/2019 |
See log for Shank of Mondair. From Hill of Saughs (to SSE) where the mapped track ends, a narrow trod leads to a gate. Once thru' gate, there is a trod/path which gradually improves towards the summit. | carole engel | 17/10/2019 |

County top reached from the small parking area with a phone box near Millden Lodge in Glen Esk. Nine miles in three and half hours with cracking views. Would not be a problem if visability was low as there’s a clear path until the last sixty meters of climb. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 30/07/2018 |

71st – With Allan. From the south parking by Millden Lodge, follow minor road and estate track over Mount Een, Bennygray, Wester Cairn, leaving track to gain summit. Return via different estate track following the White Burn and Burn of Turret. The estate track was pretty much a 'motorway' and detracted somewhat from the walk. V cold and dry, winds strengthening during the walk ahead of storm that evening. | RGibbs | 06/12/2017 |
