Sgòrr nan Lochan Uaine & Sgùrr Dubh from the Coire Dubh car park. Followed stalkers path south to around point 370m then left the path, east across the rough to eventually a steep final section of scree to the summit of Sgòrr nan Lochan Uaine. From there, descended N down a partial path, then direct across the lochan-filled rough to the start of the reascent up Sgurr Dubh. Instead of going up the gully to the s top, we countoured around to the north side of the summit and ascented up a shoulder to the summit. Descended back down the gully, then west to a deep gorge and followed Allt nan Corrag back down to the boggy terrain below and west back across to the inbound stalkers path which we followed back to the car. Total times: 5h 51min, total moving time: 4h 26min (we spend a good bit of time on both summits).mproudfoot23/09/2023

Perfect day; 1h 20m to get here from Sgurr Dubh, with the lochans all clear and blue, surrounding peaks etched against the sky. Descended NE to pick up good stalkers path, starting exactly where the map shows it, with a wee ring of stones for shelter next to it.NorfolkPT2103/06/2022
Biked to Coulin, stalkers path, then horrible boulders. Magnificent day.iangalbraith07/05/2022

Solo on an iffy weather day. Standard SMC route, taking Sgorr nan Locahan Uaine first & then Sgurr Dubh. Followed path for as long as it went up, then across the tops. Retreated quite a long way S from Sgurr Dubh which paid off in an easier than expected descent at the expense of a longer walk.NotReallyABagger25/05/2021

Round of Sgurr nan Lochan Uaine and Sgurr Dubh after cycling up to Coulin Lodge. Nice path up to 500m. Steep scree above 800m. Ridge to SD involves plenty of steep crag dodging.Topographer5724/05/2018

Done with Sgurr Dubh. Not keen on the 45 degree loose boulder slope for the last bit. Maybe didn't find the correct line.ngthack02/07/2015

With Yeltzbagger. One of the roughest hills I have ever climbed. We should have walked back along the road when we finally got down but added to the torture by trying to walk through shoulder high (for me) heather through the forest. Finally a river crossing to get to the road and still a long way to go along the road. Warmest ever October day in Inverness.Stevie n Tay25/10/2005
With Stevie n Tay. Roughest terrain we have ever encountered. We should have got back on to the road as soon as we got back down but then map showed a non existent track through the forest. The heather was as tall as Stevie n tay. Warmest October day ever recorded.Yeltzbagger25/10/2005
