Not a lot to say about this one. Long flat road so took Hill Bagging's suggestion as to the summitmoorsman02/07/2023
Revisit after a recent survey has moved the high point down the road, south of the water tower. On my way to visit mntainman.Dangerous Dave05/02/2023

Notable for being my first after-dark bagging! Parked up to near silence apart from the odd owl hoot on a lovely clear night. A few miles down the road a barn owl flew right in front of the car. Made a nondescript top very memorable.jedthehumanoid16/01/2019
On the drive from Bedford home to Cumbria. Verge parking S of wtr twr, wandered along the road looking for a HP - must have missed it!jonglew04/01/2019

County top outing, Park alongside the water tower and walk south up the Drift and maybe you'll see some wildlife in the woods either side of the road otherwise it is a little bland this top.WAYNE ROWLETT26/07/2015
Hot, sunny and peaceful- strangely poor GPS reception - perhaps the large trees lining the road were blocking signals?M3WDD03/07/2015

County top No.47. By train to Melton Mowbray and bus to Wymondham. Walked from Wymondham via local footpaths to The Drift (Viking Way), then back along the Viking Way trail to Market Overton for bus and train home. Distance 10.8 miles, climb 457 feet, time 3:43. Weather cloudy at first, but clearing to a sunny warm afternoon.(Temp 15 deg C) The Viking Way trail north of Crown Point Farm was still swamped after the winter rains, not very nice at all!!alan.65to7001/04/2014
East side of road? Also walked along very muddy and wet farm road to Big wood. Same GPS reading.bolton28/01/2014
Parking area alongside the water tower - Walked south along the minor road for about 75m to make absolutely sure the top was bagged. Then drove to the A607, parked on the verge of the farm track, and walked NNE up the track for about 500m to the potential alternative summit. (PM)gerrybowes28/01/2014

On a 5 county top jaunt as the weather was fine, at least not raining anyway. Everywhere there was standing water on the fields and tracks, bad decision to wear my canvas walking boots duh. This was my first, didn't need to go onto the mud, it is just a junction in the middle of nowhere, no views for trees, most interesting thing was a jogger running past, and a water tower.Mark T19/03/2013
On the way home after failing to find the OS surface block which is or was 3km north along the road.RHW16/03/2013
With Marie and had walk from Buckminster in lovely weather, ice and a dusting of snow but sun out among the mist. Walk up Viking way and found what looked like highest point opposite the water tower, but frankly impossible to see which mound was highest and which was in lincolnshire. Village is classic "closed" village based on the great estate and all orderly and neat, with the Earl of Dysart's estate office still based next to the Tollmache Arms in village. Looked good but sadly too early to try on return so had to settle for juice, oatcake buscuits and a packet of chilli and sour cream crisps.mcf13/01/2013
Easy parking at the junction next to the water tower. Got out of car, walked around a bit and then got back in. 1st of 4 'tops' in a 3 hour jaunt.RichieRambler18/12/2012
Top and spot height waste of time. Ring contour off A607 not too bad. Easy parking at both.destaylor15/11/2012
wandered around the junctionBramley05/10/2012
On way home, brief diversion off A1 via Colsterworth. Stood at road on the spot(s). Agree water tower interesting but that's all. Around by Croxton Kerrial to look at the A607 point, Ash Plantation mound lot more interesting and 'feels' higher. Gotta do!nordicstar16/08/2012
Realised that I have actually parked here before. Good place to stop to make a brew in the van.Martin R27/06/2012
