Easy, steady walk on very good path. For anyone thinking of taking a dog up because the path looks easy, the boulder field comprising the flattish 2/3 mile to and from the summit may be very hard work, especially if they have little legs!harpmonk08/09/2019

We climbed it from East Tempar, starting along a path marked 'no access to Schiehallion' There was, then, in fact a much better route, on an attractive ridge, than the one from Braes of Foss, where we finished our traverse. Schiehallion looks classical from our route, dull from Braes of Foss. A long road walk back, but on very quiet roads through attractive high pastureland and mmorland. I guess, with the popularity of this mountain, it would be antisocial to park at East Tempar, for that reason I can understand discouragement to use that fine approach. With Pete and Dad- his only ever Munro! A fine day, views, one 15 min shower.pwheeler08/09/1987

With: sj lw sg pr dg; From Braes of Foss CP. Up E ridge to summit. Lots of snow cover. Descent down W ridge then down Allt Mor back to start.Ian Baines19/03/1977
First of several ascents. Ascended whilst walking from Fortingall to Blair Atholl. Followed track from Fortingall to pass the bothy on the south side of Schiehallion. Then ascended the south side. Descended the standard east ridge, though there was not much of a path at this time. Long walk then to Blair Atholl. Also ascended in perfect snow conditions at Easter 2001, when it was one of the few open hills due to the foot and mouth outbreak.JohnW04/06/1976
