Walkhighlands route from Inveruglas. Didn't fancy returning by the steps and scrambles so followed the ridge to Beinn Dubh via BV North and Far North Tops then down to the dam. Cross the burns higher up before descending: the last one is tricky to cross lower down.TRG31829/06/2022

With Iain. 2nd attempt of the year (not in snow this time!) Unbelievable inversions all around - complete with fog bow and brocken spectres. Down to Abyssinia for the night - joined by crew of 6 at 10pm. 3.5hr trod back through stunning Glen Uaine next day.iangpark06/11/2020
Cracking day out with great views and weather. hard climb doing Vorlich and Vane in the same day though.Kevthecat05/10/2020
With Jon. Drove up from Annan. Parked at Inveruglas and followed main path up steeply on a sunny day. Dashed down and then headed off to catch the ferry to Mull.jigglybones21/08/2020
Great route in winter conditions as I didn’t expect the little climb to reach the summitemily27/01/2020
Gavin Appleton Alex Heenan, Barry McGarahan. Finns First Munro. Walked from the National Park Car Park at Inveruglas. Had a rain shower that lasted 15 minutes on the walk in. However once that cleared up it was a reasonable day. Snow for the last 250m of ascent and a some ice on the summit. Nothing too bad. Helped a couple and there two dogs over a steep rocky section they could have done with ice axes. Summitted then came a little lower for lunch. Ensured couple got back down the steep section safely then walked out. Finn loved it especially the snow he was really well behaved even when he sent on the doubled lead at the top. thought it was getting to steep and slippy for him to be charging round I thought it best to play it safe. Back at the car by 3:30 a really enjoyable day.ian-e18/01/2020
With Debs & Tali, heading home. Parked on A82 layby 1km south of tracks start as carpark closed for the roadworks. Under 4 hours, hill path being repaired.Mountain Goat02/10/2019

Boggy AF walk in. Followed walkhighlands route. Lots of big bags of stones on the 'path' for work to be done, though they made for interesting obstacles because it was either climb over them or tackle the bog. Met an elderly man who was doing his first munro since a hip replacement - can't believe the speed that he got down the hill! Walked with MS & AM.kateslattery9011/08/2019

Climbed from Inveruglas vistor centre, left work in Hamilton at 12:30, started the hike at 14:15, returned to the car at 19:45. Clear sunshine to begin with, overcast by the end, but dry all afternoon. Didn’t enjoy the false summits, but this was my 66th Munro and the fourth in the Arrochar Alps.chillyman814/06/2019
Standard there and back route from Inveruglas. Quite a steep ascent. Clear on summit but rain shower on descent.knarf10/06/2019

Ben Vane in the clag. Foggy virtually the whole way up, with a few snow patches in places near the summit. Saw a few other people.Jonnyiom07/04/2019
From Inveruglas Visitor Centre, Loch Lomond (NN 32270 09862). Followed Loch Sloy access road before crossing bridge at NN 29865 09506. Soon an intially boggy path before reaching steeper ground. A few not too difficult scrambly bits near the top before reaching the small summit plateau.david23020125/03/2019
Parked in the car park opposite the power station on the A82 at Inveruglas. Walked along the road and then turned right under the railway line. Folowed the road up until it forks to the left and goes over a bridge, short distance later you can see the obvious path that takes you up to Ben Vane. No views from the top thanks to the clag. Walk took 4 hrs 45 min.Anglostark15/01/2019
Nice walk, steep and interesting. Few people out, mild and foggy.Capt Malbec27/12/2018
Up steep well trodded path. Boggy low down, rocky higher up. Top 100m patches of ice made short scrambles interesting. Good long distant viewscjo09/12/2018
The usual route from Inveruglas on a sunny day, great views of the nearby lochs and hills and an enjoyable hike/scramble to the summit.Chris Mac18/11/2018
Parked at Inveruglas car park and headed along the three locks way path to start the ascent of Ben Vane. Easy paths to follow with occassional small scambling sections near the top.Zoe Little05/08/2018

From Arrochar via the excellent new path (Three Lochs Way) to Coiregrogain. Then a fine ascent on a good path. Pity about the weather. Of the two paths marked ascending W from NN295092, the southernmost is the better.Mark Jackson19/08/2017
