Timed it quite fortunately to get up here shortly after the midday rain had eased off. Also is one I've been wanting to visit for a good many years, so was extra enjoyable to have it as my first new hill bag of the year.Alex C03/01/2024

From the small parking area at the south side. Followed a combination of way marker posts to visit both forts, trig point and summit cairnHirta03/08/2023
Learned something today about Moncrieffe hill, that the trig pillar is not the summit and so when Jamie and I in February 2007 went to visit it did we visit the trig or the summit, which can't even be seen from the trig pillar or did we visit the summit.. we certainly didn't do both so today there was no option left but for me to return and visit both to legitimize both cases. So after a lazy day in Tesco cafe in Perth while it was calm and dry outside and latet watching a set of tennis from the south side car park, when I got out of the car early evening if stayed to gently rain. Lovely walk from south carpark, added bonus of following the sculpture trail as well.Hegley21/01/2023
Parked at the Woodland trust carpark south east of the top at NO153192 -it's nearly 1km drive in from the road. Followed part of the yellow woodland trust route which was ascending via the southern/lower track marked on the OS map and then following a track not on the OS map but on the Woodland Trust map from around NO153192 (very rough!) up to Moredon Top. Descended on a small path that starts around NO153192 and goes down south east through the woods and joined the northern/upper track on the OS map to return to the carpark.Danmawr07/01/2023
From large car park to N. up stony paths which wind their way up through attractive woodland. At first fingerpost turned left for 'Hillforts' & at second fingerpost forked left for 'Moredun Hill Fort' within which lies the summit cairn. Pleasant.gerrybowes20/09/2022

12.5km pre-dawn run from the Salutation Hotel in town. More or less light by the time I reached the top. Lovely little hill but couldn’t linger as I had to hurry back to meet colleagues for breakfast.Herbert Anchovy04/02/2020
From Tay Car park on the drive back to Edinburgh from Crieff because it was quite literally on the way. Interesting Iron Age fort. With trimarc2 who, of course, took the difficult way (ie sheer ascent) to the summit.Fionalevey12/08/2019

From purpose built CP at about NO135210 (note - CP 'closes at dusk to prevent anti-social behaviour', though the refuse bin was already upside down, spewing out its contents, as I drove in, so maybe today's ASB had started early....). Easy, well made tracks, followed 'white' route to visit Moredun Top Fort (summit) and Moncrieff Fort.Isbjorn23/06/2019
Walk up from Tay car park, good viewsNozzer17/04/2019
With Martin66, JC & Otis on a sunny & mild winter's day from the Earn car park/road end. Followed track to the hill fort & trig. Then continued round to the summit. Road noise from the M90 rather spoils the summit. Returned by the higher path.NotReallyABagger28/12/2018

An easy walk from the main car park on manicured paths. But it was probably rather better than usual because of a bit of snow cover.Gill14/12/2017
