1 x parking opposite tk to Carneddol Farm, SH304330. Asked at farm and permission was readily given. Used gate to S of farm, dilapidated fence easily crossed (gate to N leads into quagmire), accompanied by barking, growling, snarling, dog. Recommend not to try to climb without asking as hill is in full view and the farm’s ferocious dog will announce your presence regardless. It dared to bare its teeth at me, but each time I faced it down, it backed off, tail between legsIsbjorn31/01/2024
A second visit to this hill, 20 years and 2 weeks after I first climbed it.Minto15/07/2023
Parked by farm machinery opposite the gate. Farm hand happily gave us permission to go up. Straightforward ascent through sheep field. High point over wall. With Jill & Minto.Dangerous Dave15/07/2023
Parked by Farm machinery opposite gate. Tom went to get permission from pleasant farm lady. Quick up and down. Pleasant view from summit.JulieB10/06/2023
After obtaining permission to park along the road this was a quick up & down between heavy showers, luckilyIWC05/05/2023
Spoke with friendly farmer to park on lay-by opposite gate, straight up and down. Left some cider to say thank you.Hippy7713/02/2023
Parked on hardstanding at the bales on the road by the entrance to the farm. Walked down to the farm to ask permission to access the hill. This permission was readily given. There must be money in mixed livestock farming given the array of upmarket cars parked in the farmyard. But I digress. Hopped over the gate near the bales to give access to the hill and made the quick ascent to the top. Gloomy day with restricted views. Up and down in 20 minutes.Clach Liath22/01/2023
Up from silage bales just north of farm. Surprisingly rocky.lordtonult07/11/2022
Up and back from farm (nobody about so went for it anyway). Great views.twg2725/06/2022

Parked in very small layby opposite the farm, and walked across to the farm to ask for permission to go up to top of Carneddol. Very kind and nice lady farmer (helping a recently calfed mama cow) granted permission and also had a short chat with her. with Tilly and Jack. 1 of 4 Marilyns todaymazz04/09/2020

Walk from our Air BNB near Saethon Bach. Followed the road round to Carnedddol Farm, where we walked down to the farm house praying we weren't going to be savaged by dogs! fortunately we weren't. No one seemed to be in so we decided to just go for it through the gate and up as per others. The BWF is down at the summit wall so you can easily climb over to the West side of the wall where the summit is. Good views just as the sun was starting to set 3.5m.Jephcote8316/08/2019
From the east, on local advice parked at farm entrance then walked north to gate. Intermittent drizzle became steady then heavy rain and mist.Topographer5704/08/2019

Third hill of the day. Parked by the entrance to Carneddol farm, but no one seemed to be about. Through the first gate to the north on the road, then straight up. Up and down in 15 minutes.huwthomas04/04/2018
The lay by near Carneddol farm is a bit of a mess, mashed up verges and covered with old tyres and suchlike, so I parked on a better area by the track leading to Tyddyn-yr-haint. Hopped over the BWF and walked up the side of the wall to the top. Nice short grass, and wonderful views, with spectacular late afternoon sun.Gill08/03/2018
Quick ascent from lane to SEdavidpettit8401/01/2018
I too parked at the entrance to the farm and then went down the track and asked permission to go up which was readily given together with advice on the best way up - over the gate just to the north of the farm entrance thereby not needing to climb the fence. a pleasant climb up and again good views from the top.Father Ted07/10/2017

Found difficulty parking to east of hill came back to junction and managed to pull on verge at 304326. No animals in fields on south side of hill, went through gate across field to an open gate then diagonal to next open gate which brings onto main part of hillside. Faint track more or less to top. Had to cross wall to get to summit. Returned same way.Rob5027/04/2016

easy stroll from road around 304331. hopped over gate and scurried up rocky sheep infested slopes to wall over summit. northern summit looks similar height but maybe 2-3m shy. views as good as expected. though the marquee at wakestock was an ugly intrusion.stig_nest10/07/2014
Simple walk up from road on east side but no ROW I could seeMark Sims28/11/2013
We got a cheerful nod from the farmer's son as we set of from Tyddyn-yr-haint but there are no rights of way and the barbed wire has been renewed. Padding allows the wire to be crossed to reach the summit. We walked to Carn Saethon, the fort top, interesting. One to visit once, though. Handy after a wet day, we started at 1600 hrs as it cleared.pwheeler15/09/2013
Started Rhedyn and asked at the farm house down the lane if we could walk up the hill. The people in the house were very nice and just warned us about the frisky bullocks that might give chase. Managed to get up to the top before they spotted us, but on the way down had to play hide and seek before we made it back to the gate.mindlessflogger21/07/2013
