Very wet and windy and the cloud only started to clear when we got to Llyfnant. We were treated to good views of a hen harrier, cuckoo, sparrowhawk, redstarts and buzzard. | Herbert Anchovy | 08/06/2019 |

P opposite large Quarry to N of Arenig Fawr. Headed W then N along a good track passing a small quarry - path then turns nasty for a wile but soon becomes a good green track up to col. Visited Moel Llyfnant first then return to col & on to Arenig Fawr S ridge top & S top, then Arenig Fawr herself. Arenig tops quite nice. Return roughly N then W to join outward path passing little quarry. | ger | 28/09/2018 |

Arenig Fawr, Arenig Fawr South Top & South Ridge Tops, Moel Llyfnant from Pont Rhys-y-Fen. Followed Nuttall route as far as Moel Llyfnant then along fence down North ridge back to disused railway and return to road. Beautiful day with blue sky, frozen ground, cloud inversion. Arenig Fawr is one of Wales's hidden gems .... a big rugged mountain with views encompassing most of North and Mid Wales. Highly recommend ... walked solo but saw no-one all day until I summited Moel Llyfnant (bit of a grassy lump this one, but a nice rocky summit!!) | jamessteel100 | 26/11/2016 |
