Soft ground parking at nature reserve SN964759 (a barely discernible sign informs you to drive 200m N along the dirt tk). Easy, waymarked, big zig zags, on W flank, to topIsbjorn04/02/2024

2/3 By obvious route from nature reserve car park. Bad flies, not raining but low visibility. Rounsfell08/08/2023
As others fro nature reserve car park to SW. up zig zag track to seat. Could not hang around long to take in view due to flies, despite applying insect repellent before I set off. Over fence to top.PeterD07/07/2023
With Peterb, starting from the nature reserve car park like most folk. Took the zig-zag track up to the viewpoint (whilst being mobbed by flies) then over BWF to the grassy summit. For those looking to avoid the possibility of ripped clothing, one can go through the gate at SN 967760 and circumnavigate the BWF fence by walking around the edge of the viewpoint area and hopping over a gate to the summit area (we did this for the return).bowlesy27/06/2023
From the nature reserve carpark. I've never had so many flies around my head before on a hill. With Chris.Peterb27/06/2023

From the nature reserve car park (using postcode LD6 5LR, gets you to the sign at the road corner). Don't be put off by the bit of grass on the track before the car park. Followed waymarked route to the view point, then over bwf to the summit (bit of a wander around pick your blade of grass). 1.7miles round trip, under 45mins walking time.JulieB26/05/2022

Much more straightforward than I thought. A quick one to do with minimum hassle. Select first path from forest map.elizyanne19/07/2018
As Rhalstead. Note - drive past house (unsurfaced road) and about 200m later you'll find the Woodland Trust car park. Hot, sunny and good views.iangalbraith19/07/2018
A nice walk from the nature reserve car park, just beyond Tan-yr-Allt cottage. Very pleasant narrow mossy path up through oak woods, a vehicle track, a very quick thrash across some brash, over a BWF and to the top, with great views. Hail storm on the way down, gave spectacular cloud effects when able to see. Down the vehicle track all the way.Gill15/02/2018
From car park north of Tan-yr-allt SO9644,7596. Wildlife trust trail to within 100yrds of summit.rhalstead29/05/2017

Quick hill. Parked by the chapel to E.twg2714/02/2017
Parked in Nantgwyn by phone box opposite church, up track as gerrybowes, across fields, plenty of gates to summit. In clag, shotguns being fired far to close for my liking so back down track at a rapid rate of knots! With CodyleCoyote.rogreeves14/02/2017
Up and down from roadside to east (room for a car) in half an hour between showers.SS28/01/2017
with Alastair and Sarah from the nature reserve car park on the west side of the hill via the zig zag access track. Delightful place for a spot of SOTA.M0YDH17/12/2016

Bagged as a break in a N-S Wales journey. Parked by the chapel, up and down in 25 minutes. Caught in a squall at the top (which isn't marked).huwthomas07/04/2016
Spoke to the very nice chap at Tan yr Allt who advised there was a parking space just up past his. Then followed zigzag forest path which actually goes right to the hillcrest. Just a nip over 1 b/wire fence to grassy summit. A great view point. Theres some might fine hills down these parts..and because theyre less than 2000ft theyre very quiet. Trees on the upper section have been cleared. A bench faces to Plynlimon.stig_nest16/02/2016
Parked in a small quarry on the minor road south of the hill. Walked west along the road and then steeply up through the oak woods at a rusty pedestrian gate. the path eventually leads to another rusty gate and a field. A short walk through fields and a felled forest lead to the highest point.mindlessflogger20/06/2015
With: hb; Parked at SN963771 and followed track into wood then nature walk up to open fell. Short walk from the stile to the summit. Much better weather than the morning.Ian Baines12/03/2015

Met brother who had been hillbagging further S. Plenty of space for our 2 cars at Nantgwyn, opposite chapel. Went S. along road & then took the first track on right after 300m, followed it up through pastures S. of Cenarth Wood. No ROW, nor access land, but there's no discouragement either. Nice views though this hill is surrounded by higher hills- glimpse through to Cader Idris. Not very exciting hill but nice enough way of spending 55 mins.pwheeler04/05/2013
easy walk from the church through some fields. no clear high point on this hill, although the map says it should be the first thing you meet. it isnt obvious.tallblond18/11/2012
