Camping holiday with the family at the Quiet Site, from which we were able to climb Little Mell Fell in lovely weather and enjoy clear views from the top. 4yr old Anna tackled her first Wainwright all on her own little legs (2yr old Alma in the carrier), and braved her first lake swim in Ullswater that afternoon. Amazing day!AmyYoung22/05/2023

Walked from the quite site up the hill and through the farm gate with footpath sign. Had 2 dogs with me. No sheep around. Took the direct path that says access permitted straight up to trig point. We had lots of rain the week before but apart from some boggy ground at the Base which you can get around it was fine. Great views from the top. Pretty steep climb but plenty of places to place your feet. Returned same route. About an hour by the time I returned to the siteCharge0110/12/2021

Stopover from week in Borders with J. On a clear day, parked at foot of track 200m N of Brownrigg Farm & ascended Great Mell Fell first. Then followed waymarked path through farm & across the fields to Greenrow. Then along road S & through gate on L. Followed zig-zag track, then over a broken stile into field to N of fence. Followed faint path up hill over barbed wire fence & a padlocked gate to summit. Descended S to meet path by wall & followed this to Lowthwaite & then back to car via Greenrow.NotReallyABagger10/10/2021
