As others, parked at Dalton Crags cp to the S and followed various tracks to the trig and hp a little further on. A blustery fine morning. Solo.richard6901/03/2024

after a brief stop at the car and a delayer I set off on this. straight away i went wrong but didnt realise it till later. got lost and followed paths through the woods back to were i should of been but probably added well over a mile onto the walk. anyway made it to the top, great views from the trig point. followed my planned way back through a cow field and back to the car. got nearly 18, 000 steps in this day and a fantastic day it wasScotty 2 Hotty06/01/2024

If only every hill was summitted after such an easy ascent life would be so much better! Excellent, solid parking within the old Dalton Quarry. From here take the left of the two obvious tracks into the trees (opposite the entrance). This will eventually lead you, trouble free, to the trig. Summit slightly further away.moorsman14/07/2023
Delightful.dal21/05/2023
From the road between the two fells, a second circular walk after doing Farleton Fell. Took the path to Blasterfoot Gap then crossed many superb limestone pavements to the top. Stunning views over the sea in the late afternoon sun. A fantastic place to explore, must come back again soon.Jake99421/02/2023

Hutton Roof Crags and Farleton Fell from the Dalton Crags car park using a whole series of footpaths and tracks. Have passed myriad times going up and down the M6 and wondered what was up here. Really pleased to have discovered it at last. A fascinating place.summitter22/05/2022

From road to N near Limestone Way crossing. More densely vegetated than any other limestone pavement I have seen: in places, limestone blocks are festooned by tree roots like the ruins of lost cities! Many butterflies in the clearings. Finding the true summit is quite entertaining!Nick Down101/07/2021
Farleton Fell and Hutton Roof Crags on a beautiful, clear day. Barely saw a soul but the views were fantastic. Very underrated fells.Lazylizzie22/05/2021
A calm overcast and atmospheric afternoons walk with Andy. From the quarry carpark ( full of Covid ignoring pensioners!).A circuit of the limestone paving, lovely place last visited on James Merryweather's ferns course 2018.Karmakarl09/12/2020

Superb approach is from SD 5430 7828 via the nature reserves - a bit further but worth it. Saw a Wall Brown on the summit rock.jimbloomer14/09/2020

Another 'interesting' visit to Hutton Roof. This time tackled it from fell road to north, visiting the 'new' high point cunningly detected by the Abney man. Those 60cm make all the difference! This is a great fell to get lost on.citygent22/11/2018
Climbed from lay-by on A65 just before M6 via field paths, very quiet country lanes, bridleways cross minor road then onto Hutton roof moor where a meandering path climbs up through stunted shrubs. When limestone crags show through push right onto limestone pavement by large cairn where thin path goes to summitrobert15/10/2018
Solo. On the way home fter a few days n Keswick. Parked in Quarry car park to the south. Followed path that starts to the left of the picnic tables and continues to the TP. Another 100m approx. to the highest point. Good weather.mike.hoult15/09/2018
After Lambrigg Fell, drove down M6 and parked at picnic site in wood to S of hill. Beautiful woodland with native trees and Limestone Pavement. Picked first Blackberries of this year.IanHHill02/08/2018
Walked up straight after work (Dalton Hall Business Centre at SD538761 - marked as 'Home Farm'). Very hot and got harassed by flying ants almost constantly. Got a bit disorientated in the woods but eventually found the wide track to the top. Views good but a little hazy. N.B. - no access via Crag House.James McKnight26/07/2018

with Andy his idea to fight through birches lolcolinfielding03/05/2018
From North followed a good path up to the ridge and then fought our way thru birches. If we had carried on another 200yds a path would have taken us to the top. With Colin.Andrew Pearson03/05/2018
