Parked near Crowcombe Park Gate. It was a cold cloudy day with strong winds and a few spots of rain in the air. The ground was still rock hard and icy from the recent cold spell. Headed along the Beech Drove to Triscombe Stone, where I saw a huge flock of Chaffinches and Bramblings. Up to Will Neck and back via Black Knap and Triscombe then along the Drove and up Black Hill just before sunset. Time just under 2 hours for just over 5 miles. | isabelle | 20/01/2024 |
Run from Dead Woman’s Ditch to Wills Neck, Lydeard Hill, Cothelstone Hill. Back along the flanks of the first two, and then up Black Hill and finally Dowsborough and a return to the start with a bit of a loop to make it up to a half marathon. Time taken 2 hours 9 minutes for 13.19 miles and 1624feet of ascent. | isabelle | 22/10/2023 |
From the Lydeard Hill car park. | islamidget | 25/09/2023 |
Up and back from the Lydeard Hill CP ST181134. Enjoyed the colourful heather and gorse. Pity the mountain bikers ignore the no cycling sign. | Newton Maximus | 19/08/2023 |
From a local campsite walked to Bishops Lydeard and took the No28 bus to Bicknoller from where we walked up onto the ridge. Then heading S to Black Hill, Wills Neck, Lydeard Hill, Broomfield Hill, Cothelstone Hill and back to the campsite. Weather was breezy and overcast before turning to rain midway through. The drover road section after Crowcombe Gate under the beech trees was very atmospheric in the cloud and the breeze. With Gillian | richard69 | 26/07/2023 |

Parked in Dead Woman's Ditch, headed up to Dowsborough, doubled back and went out to Black Hill and Hurley Beacon before heading out past Fire Beacon, Great Hill Cairn, Wills Neck and Lydeard Hill before making a loop and coming back through Great Wood dodging MTB riders. Didn't realise I could have carried on to Cothelstone Hill and Broomfield Hill, had the legs to do the lot today but will have to come back (not that I need an excuse!) | lboutside | 25/02/2023 |

Easy run over Lydeard Hill and Wills Neck in the very slushy snow with Izzy. Summits in cloud with sleety rain. Saw a solitary Stonechat. | isabelle | 28/12/2020 |
Belted straight up the NW face of the hill from Blue Ball at Triscombe. Path hard to make out initially and very steep. Soon out of the trees and hitting series of false summits, but just look back a moment now for stunning views of Brendon Hills. The summit proved a fine spot to take it all in on a glorious afternoon. Returned by way of path to Triscombe Stone and lane down beside quarry. With Tiarnán. | Pete West | 11/10/2020 |

Parked at Triscombe Stone car park & had a leisurely walk along the Drove road with family before doubling back and heading to the summit. It's a quick direct walk from car park. Had to wait about 10 minutes to get to trig as an extended family were posing in every conceivable position for photos!!! Enjoyed views over the surrounding countryside while I waited. | Gerry the Ranger | 04/07/2020 |

Popular walk on Boxing Day | cjo | 26/12/2018 |
The end of a walk from Bicknoller via Black Hill and the Triscombe Stone. By the time we got up here the blowy drizzle had turned to proper unpleasant rain, so we didn't linger as long as I would have wanted. The cairns are decent if unspectacular examples. | thesweetcheat | 03/11/2018 |
