Staying at Coniston YH with Alex McBride for the weekend, we headed up Walna Scar Road (a track really) for a circuit covering eight summits. Five of which were Hewitts and Wainwrights, two were just Wainwrights and one was just a Hewitt. Alex is bagging the Wainwrights, while I'm doing the Hewitts.

Late in the day, on a long walk through the Lakes. The summit tor was quite fun under the weight of a camping pack | Colin Crawford | 16/09/2022 |
This top was really difficult for someone who does not like heights. Plus it was flying ant day and we were swarmed by flies at the top. But I did it even though I was very wobbly by the time I got off the summit. | JThorn | 28/08/2022 |

The classic route up Coniston Old Man with Sasha on a cracking day! Follow the ridge over to Dow Crag with it's impressive face, before descending via Brown Pike. Completion of a walk started two years earlier (almost to the day) where a flying visit through the Lakes coincided with awful weather: Goat's Water was turned into a broiling sea by the wind, and the Old Man looked less than benevolent high above the cloud line. What a contrast! | hjb68 | 27/08/2021 |
With Val. From Walna Scar -top car park. Brown Pike, Buck Pike, Dow Crag, Brim Fell, The Old Man, Walna Scarand White Maiden. Cloud drifting across the fells giving variable visibility. | mike.hoult | 24/08/2021 |
