No 1 of round of 11 hills from Slockavullin, taking a bit over 6 hours over pretty rough ground. Deer tracks helped though a lot of the bracken. Cracking views over to Jura, Scarba and Mull. Tormented by flies. | sclater | 12/07/2020 |
6th top of 16 on a 27.6km circuit from Kilmartin, climbing Creag Madaidh Mor, Garbh Shron, Creag a' Bhanan NE, Creag a' Bhanan and Creag an Duin, continuing SE then Ese to climb to top of the Dun and continuing on same line but then heading NE to climb upto summit area. I recorded 181m in heather @ NR 81039 98511 but then explored equally high ground to the NE also recording 181m next to some pine trees @ NR 81099 98532. Contuing South for Barr a Chuirn... | Dazingdale | 13/05/2019 |
Bus from Oban to junction of A816 and B8025. Road to Slockavullin, track (very wet and muddy in places) north-westwards to Mulcach Mòr, then footpath by Raslie Burn. Wall running NNE from 811987 now surmounted by high fence and gate padlocked, but possible to cross at junction. Round north-west of wood and up beside wall to summit just south-east of bend in wall. Early sunshine replaced by mist. Back down by wall, then westwards towards Creag an Dùin. | mainnirnamfiadh | 08/02/2017 |
