P start of forest track (kirkyard CP now closed), to quarry then up, straight back down to road, easy going. | agentmancuso | 20/04/2023 |
Parked at old cemetery and followed forest track to lone turbine. Easy slopes to top thereafter. Descent was straight down hill to cemetery. Lovely winter day. | Crumblie2 | 08/03/2023 |
From Kirk o'Muir cemetery, following FC track as far as the single wind turbine, then grassy north slopes. | hillsman | 27/04/2022 |
Parking at E end of Carron Valley reservoir. Walk W along B818 until S of the top step over the fence and follow the sheep trods beside the drystane dyke. Easy walking. | bjewing | 03/04/2021 |
With the boys from lone wind turbine south to summit ridge and down to cemetery before returning to de Graham's Castle on forest track which now gives great views of valley and reservoir. | lordtonult | 01/04/2021 |
I only climbed this because it looked quite good and there was a track leading up to the mast, from the road south of the summit. Pretty easy going all the way, some nice grassy bits, gate at start, no fences. | alda | 27/03/2021 |
From the cemetery, up forest track to the first turbine, animal tracks through wet ground to the summit. Low sun, close to freezing and great views in all directions. | iangalbraith | 22/12/2020 |
Up from the southwest through wet fields. Return via the lone turbine and forest. Very pleasant weather after work | fasgadh | 17/09/2020 |
From Kirk-o-Muir Cemetery, up track to a small bing, then jumped a burn to aim for the top from SWW. Probably not the best route as the burn crossing was a little hazardous given the amount of Storm Ali rainfall pounding down it. | summitter | 20/08/2018 |
Parked by the Carron Dam and walked along the B818. After following some of the tracks on Cairnoch Hill and finding no obvious way through, I backtracked to the quarry, crossed the rickety double fence to Craigannet, and walked across it back to the Carron Dam. The summit is a splendidly tranquil place on a warm summer evening. | Nick Down1 | 27/06/2018 |
parked entrance to wind farm to the south, track right to quarry across burn to the top. | robertphillips | 09/01/2018 |
Circuit from Carron Reservoir. | chalky1953 | 18/12/2017 |
Park at windfarm entrance to SW. Walk up windfarm to quarry then rough pasture to summit. Not memorable. Drizzle. | Thearlaichdubh | 29/08/2017 |
After Cairnoch. Crossed over at quarry, then from summit direct back to car at forest entrance. | NormanW | 13/07/2017 |
Ascended from the forest road of Cairnoch Hill. Most of this forest has been felled, but there is much debris in crossing to this hill. | JohnW | 10/06/2016 |
From sw, Minto route. Descended direct to road at forest corner, much soggier | RHW | 09/04/2016 |
Parked at start of forest road, followed to quarry. Then across burn, & fence, then some boggy ground to the summit. | Minto | 26/10/2015 |
From old cemetery at Carnoch rough pasture rises to top of hill. Several points of equal height at summit area. | neimcv | 20/10/2015 |
P 710799. Up track then various tracks and trods across wet ground. Visited both areas within 355 contours. SW is the highest. | chrisbien | 28/02/2015 |
Note that from the graveyard start, following the track beyond the quarry (don't turn in) leads to another turn off, just past the col, this leading to a single turbine. It is easy to go up and down from here, no streams or fences. | Belfarm | 19/03/2010 |
