From Lian Mor parking. Tough going up via Garmonyreoch (abandoned village) on W bank of burn. Tussock hell. Down E bank on faint quad bike track that came out on road a little E of parking. Rounsfell19/08/2022
The track is useful. It is marked on the Harveys map but not on the OS maps.Pete R08/06/2022
From Liam Mor, up track then vague path, plenty tussocks and never ending soggy ground. Onto Druim Fada and more tussock punishmentN.Morters21/01/2022
The famous Smudge route, though you can park closer than 300m to the start of the ATV track. The track is hard to spot, a darker green swathe in the grass. Don't make the mistake that I made going up the more obvious electricity repair track further E, which ends at the power line. Once across tussocks and a stream, I got back on the real track and the going is easy. The track forks near the ridge line, I took the L fork heading for the ridge, which seems to take you to a point about 1 km from the summit. Does the R fork take you closer? My route went over or around a few bumps, several areas of tussocks, but not too bad. There are otters in the loch, near the parking area.Gill14/07/2020
From parking beside waterfall, then boggy quad track just east of Lian Mor woodland. Quad track goes to about 270m before it is necessary to head off across the tussocks.PGCE21/02/2020
From parking at NM667256 - up to mast - direct to summit avoiding the heather as much as possible. The bracken was dead at this time of year but still a tough ascent.Chris Peart15/11/2019
Grassy quad tracks starting at 67747 26003 leading to within 500m of the summit, then terrible tussocks to contend with but the view was worth it.NormanW08/08/2019
Dropped at t-junction to climb Maol Ban and Druim Fada in atrocious weather and even worse visibility. Welcome honesty tearoom and shop at Lochbuie.lordtonult08/05/2018
P at waterfall 675260 then track from 300m east. Thanks Martin, not sure I would have found track It is indistinct and locally wet but better than the surrounding leg twisting tussocks. Rain all about but miraculously I didn't catch it.Topographer5728/04/2018
MC MH DS. From the edge of the wood and up beside the stream. Ground very wet and quite tussocky. Good views from the summit with bright rainbows. Wet on descent.Martin6631/12/2017
Smudge's route worked well from us.jenx25/08/2016
With Druim Fada anti clockwise from Barachandroman. Spectacular wilderness walk. No paths but not too bad underfoot. Great views across Firth of Lorne and plenty eagles seen.AndrewFinnimore10/05/2016
Revisited en route from Beinn na Sroine to AirigheRHW02/06/2015
With SG via the boggy track that starts just E of the Lian Mor woods. This misses the summit by c400m so wilder vegetation has to be tackled to reach the trig.Smudge02/06/2015
My 600th marilyn. Done with Jon Metcalftallblond30/05/2015
Third top today with a great view point to the islands with Jim Bloomer.Dugswell202/05/2013
With Alfie.Dangerous Dave13/03/2013
Started at NM678260 where there is an ATV track that takes you a fair way up the hill. Then a series of deer/sheep trods may or may not help. Sea eagles as company. Bet they enjoy the view too.Martin R18/04/2012
From minor road near BarachanromanBLACKHILL24/04/2011
Squelch job from the north. Best avoided in summer due to vegetation, but lovely when the grass is down. Another good viewpoint.fasgadh16/04/2011
Revisit. Nice grassy summit, fine view. Hit by a hail squall - got pics just in time. From NW, more or less beeline from E of farm. Then to Druim Fada, descending to cross head of Glen LibidiRHW21/03/2008
Parked by Loch Spelve on Croggan road. By a small mast very treacherous underfoot, deep deer grass, rough heather and boulders. Deep waist high thin stuff which took huge steps to trample down to make progress even on higher ground. Through first line of crags around to left bank of stream. On second horizon bore right and saw higher ground about a mile away with more difficult trudging over a minor drop and up to ridge. Vanessa 10505 was 400m further with more drops and rises. To top at 12.30. Rain came on and slow and drear plod back to road watching every step.arranc03/09/2006
Round of Maol Ban and Drium Fada from Brachandroman. Up the side of A'Bhuigneach wood, circumventing the 'cnocs, and strugling arouns the 'maols' to the 3 tops of Maol Ban.Eddie30/06/2002
