Up forestry track then good path (although difficult to find start) up south ridge. | SS | 11/12/2023 |
Used the fire break which runs north to south | Andrew Simmons | 29/03/2022 |
From NT 2498 0260, large area to pull off the track. Break goes W then N, followed it N for ~80m then headed W up the hill through very young trees, some old wind throw to negotiate too. Alternative might be to stay on the break heading N until it does a U-turn S. Not for this bagger though. Trig pillar occupies the high point. | jonglew | 16/02/2021 |
After two tree thrashes (Stell Hill and Dumfedling Knowe), it was a pleasure to find this one clear felled and with a rough track up the south - north firebreak, all of the way to the top. The start of the break isn't obvious - look for a faint ramp on the right just after the quarry, Note too that the track back to the cottages has a number of fallen trees across it - a real pain on a bike | Colin Crawford | 25/08/2019 |
P start of track to Dumfedling. Sharp R just past Kiln Knowe. S of DH there is a track which after one zig follows the old SN firebreak. Trig about 20m W. Tracks to E side of DK then due W through crap trees to top. Bloodied but unbowed. | chrisbien | 25/06/2018 |
