From the NNE, verge parking near old gate, at 278m spot height (NS 9662 5184). Soggy moor, over wall then decent sheep pasture.jonglew06/11/2023
Why? Because it was a red mark on map requiring to be crossed off. Summit marked by fine orchid.lordtonult23/05/2023
When did this get down graded from a Tump? First deleted Tump I've climbed on purpose. Can't see many more people climbing this very boring hill. I climbed a bing before and after it, and both were infinitely better than Blackhill. Others won't miss out on anything with this hill being deleted from the list of Tumps.Minto15/08/2020
Not the most interesting!hillsman21/03/2020

From HP of road to NE. Can get most of car on verge. Through very old gate with a track to a wall, then squelch around second field looking for the best developed tussock. Summit might change in summer.Thearlaichdubh20/03/2019
From besides a line of beech trees at the high point (278m) of the Blackhill Road. A bit squelchy in places, but fine if you have decent boots.summitter04/11/2018
from the road summit to the NE along old fence into second field and pick your highest reed.robertphillips13/01/2018
From ridge crest on road to NE. Ground beside old fence OK, awful elsewhere. Second field easier; winding route to top.Ken_Stewart18/11/2017
A nice walk through a buttercup meadow . Not much of an ascent but a great view to the SE.Steve51117/06/2017
Approached through meadows, starting one field NE of Kilnpothall. Close to summit the going is much easier on the SE side of the fence. Descent following this fence (easy) and then heading for the 278m spot height after crossing the low wall (rougher, but not too bad in the summer).campagvelocet15/07/2015
As per Agentmancuso without the view. Don't do this after heavy rain like I did.chrisbien19/10/2013
Reeds and bog from NE. Good view of Tinto.agentmancuso25/05/2013
