From pull-in by bench overlooking pond, headed SW along road for about 30m, SW up decent path to high point & then up over heather & a bit of gorse to wind shelter & summit. | gerrybowes | 29/10/2022 |
From pond after having been up Mynydd Bodafon, good path to start then took an indistinct path that headed to top. | PeterD | 12/08/2022 |
From the bench by the lake. There are two paths and we decided the one heading se was by far the better one. Great viewpoint. Something primeval about this area. Met Dangerous Dave at the top and discussed important hill bagging issues. | Campbell Singer | 21/04/2022 |
Path not as good as I was promised. It seemed to go missing in a few places. Great views. Met Dangerous Dave. | Barbara Singer | 21/04/2022 |
Good path through the heather from the pond. Met Campbell Singer & Barbara Singer on the summit. Lots of Hillbagging talk ensued! | Dangerous Dave | 21/04/2022 |
1/3 Barclodiau then over to Mynydd Bodafon and Pen Y Castell, quick circuit close to the duck pond. Saw a fox really close up which was a treat. | nickywood1 | 02/03/2022 |

Parked by the reedy lake at the pull-in with a bench. There is a faint but easily followable path opposite where I parked starting at SH 46823 85042 which took me to the top. | DC11main | 17/05/2021 |
Parked on the verge opposite the lake and did a circular walk linking Yr Arwydd, Barclodiau, and Pen y Castell. A charming rocky oasis within the gentle pastures of Anglesey. | silveracorn_alan | 18/08/2019 |
From bus stop in Brynrefail via Pen y Castell NE top | derrymark | 13/08/2019 |
7th top of 11 today, climbing Penmynydd, Bron Alar, Cefncwmcwd, Bryn-teg, Bryn Carmel and Pen Y Foel, continuing to Maenaddwyn where i turned N up the lane to park just South of the lake. I used the lane to the houses Sw of the top before scrambling up a few metres then up to the obvious outcrop. All 3 tops look great as the Bell Heather is in bloom. I headed N iver rough terrain to reach the road and onwards to Mynydd Bodafon... | Dazingdale | 17/07/2019 |

Path to top (indistinct in parts) from bench by pond. | chrisbien | 16/04/2019 |
Quick evening round of the three hills here with my brother, from a layby near the lake. Thin path up from opposite the layby. Possibly the best views of the three hills. | wheresthepath | 14/04/2019 |
Easy ascent along paths from the small lake to the N. Parking by the lake. | DanMaisieBex | 13/04/2019 |
Parked near the small lake and walked up small paths to Mynydd Bodafon and then Barclodiau. | davidpettit84 | 07/12/2018 |
Had done Bodafan 4 years ago, but came back to pick up the other 2 tops in this lovely little spot- from the path opposite the bench on the road by the lake. | Mark Sims | 14/11/2018 |

Parked by track south east of lake (GR468853)to Mynydd Bodafon, Pen y Castell NE Top and back to car. A few metres west a good but narrow path leaves the road and leads right to the summit of Barclodiau. | ijpowell | 12/06/2015 |
