From the car park near the memorial then track and open ground over Cefn yr Esgair. Down the eastern side, over a marshy hollow, then up an ATV track to Drosgol. The NE shoulder leads to a FB over the Afon Lechwedd-mawr and onto a wet and rugged path. We headed up Banc Llechwedd-mawr just before reaching the cottage, eventually finding an ATV track to near the summit. Back down this to a road running alongside the river, crossing it at a ford and into the forestry of Banc yr Wyn. Pretty horrible stuff, impossible to follow ROWs, but eventually we got out into pasture east of Bryniau Rhyddion, which we duly climbed before heading home to the camper and a cuppa.summitter30/11/2022
Parked at 73644 88680, along the track until across the stream then straight for the summit of Bryniau Rhyddion. From there I kept the still forested area to my left and ascended Banc yr Wyn through the now felled area. From there I tried to be clever and to get around the head of the valley to Cefn yr Esgair. I managed it but it involved quite a lot of the felled forest which was slow going. 3.4 miles, 1h 35mins.clivevilla13/02/2019
