From Sparrowpit village hall. Easy walk up over fields and into wood with old pits. Awkward bwf resulting in a bloodied hand, distraction and a dropped pole which
required me to retrace my steps to recover it. | Campbell Singer | 05/01/2017 |
From Sparrowpit I followed the path east into the woods and then from there up past old capped shafts onto the hillside. | Wheelsy | 29/12/2016 |
Parking available in the grounds of Sparrowpit Village Hall (as you enter the village from the Castleton direction) ... alt 1213 ft. After crossing the first two fields the legal line of the path has been diverted. Instead of taking you diagonally across the third field into the trees, the path follows the edge of the field without entering into it, and straight into the wood. This serves us well, for, after entering the wood via a stile, it is possible to make a direct line for the summit. 1.14 miles return. | moorsman | 27/01/2016 |
From Sparrowpit, pleasant easy walk to grassy summit via footpath. No walls/fences. | RobertP | 27/09/2015 |
