First summit after the visitor centre/ticket office. Up a flight of steps, turning right through woodland about three-quarters up. Lots of bracken to contend with on the crest of the hill.summitter02/09/2023
Had a chat to one of the two rangers for the site who said they have been clearing the paths to Elysium Hill and Red Castle with a view to re-finding the old paths and operating special guided tours in a year or two time. A few yards along the main path there are steps leading up to the Menagerie, at the top duck under the rail to follow a narrow path which meanders over the top to re-join the main path. I know this is a deleted Tump but if you are here anyway this is a pleasant diversion.DC11main25/03/2023
Happy to pay entrance fee to the Park and had a good explore. From main path soon after entrance went to both Southern and Northern tops.PeterD20/08/2021

Car Park for Hawkstone Park Follies. Entrance fee today £11.50 instead of £8.25 because of 'Boot and Root' festival.David Evans15/09/2019
£7.50 Admission (Over 60) to Hawkstone Park. From Tea Room, along designated route for about 180m & then a short climb up ridge to summit mound which is covered in bracken. Besides bracken, ridge supports a mixture of rhododendron, holly & bramble. Continued to Hawkstone Hill. (S)gerrybowes05/10/2018
Trampled shoulder height bracken suggested we were not the first on the north, higher top, accessed from path that leads from Visitor Centre. Nice rural views through pines. Southern top nearby has overgrown cut steps and alcoves. Worth the entrance fee for an unusual walk, which requires proper exploration- not for rushing throughDenise 07/08/2017
The first stop of an enjoyable few hours spent in Hawkstone Park making the most of the £8:25 entrance fee. The N/S ridge of Elysian Hill reaches the road just past the park entrance. Path across grassy dell ascends to the lower S Top, there's no path N along the ridge but it's easy enough to negotiate the vegetated woodland to gain the summit. High point a trampled area in bracken and brambles.RichardM07/08/2017
On a visit to Hawkstone Park.Aye Jimmy26/05/2017
4th hill of 7 today on a route from Wem to Prees station, climbing Desford hill, Lee Hills and Kenstone Hill via Bury woods i followed cycle route 45 then walked upto visitor centre. Payed admission and after refreshments in the Caspian tea room i headed for the outcrop called the Menagerie and then easy to access ridge to the summit. I descended wildly through the rhododendrons, next hill: Hawkstone park with Obelisk.Dazingdale01/05/2017
Climbed the steep wooded bank (easy after Red Castle) and walked along the ridge.clivevilla03/03/2016
I traversed the ridge after coming down from Red Castle. No difficulties other than rampant vegetation. Both tops visitedColin Crawford18/06/2015
Straightforward: has two tops, both visited.RHW14/03/2015
Hawkstone Park's first weekend opening of the 2015 season. 3 hills within the park boundary, this one not open to the public. HP not obvious from down below so went up steep, laurel-covered ascent near N end of ridge and walked S to the end, coming off near visitors' centre.jonglew07/03/2015
Summer veg and foliage made it difficult to discern the top so I traversed the summit ridge from near the Visitor Centre to make sure.summitsup03/08/2013
Hawkstone Park, did first before bagging the HuMP with tower. £7.00 or £6 for pensioners to take up to 3 hours to explore the park with its follies, tunnels, Swiss Bridge, Grotto Hill and walk up the tower with 150 steps.Dugswell208/08/2012
Part of the wondeful Hawkstone Park complex, where I also bagged the HuMP. Well worth a visit!DanHolme01/08/1998
