Took a corkscrew route around field to follow tractor tracks spiralling in to summit reservoir from behind to avoid damaging the inch high wheat crop. Unpleasant pong and beeping of moving machinery tracked down to Exeter's household landfill and recycling centre tucked away below in Kenbury Woods across the lane. | Chris Pearson | 28/02/2024 |
Quick up and down from lay-by to NE, walked around covered reservoir. | PeterD | 03/03/2023 |
From NE, covered resr taken to be at natural HP | RHW | 16/06/2018 |
Parked in convenient lay by near gate to field in which reservoir is located. Nearby barn/ car dealer deserted. Crop recently harvested. Circled fence of covered reservoir to conclude built over natural high point . Gap next to locked gate and 3 m ladder with a few brambles gives access to flat top. Although M5 is near it is not quick to access this hill with a maze of minor roads to negotiate. | Denise | 24/09/2017 |
Parked in lane to NE then across field of stubble to the hill top reservoir enclosure surrounded by wild hedge and fence in poor stste of repair. Walked around the enclosure before visiting the top of the covered reservoir surprised to find it still in service. | RichardM | 24/09/2017 |
Parked just SE of entrance to municipal dump. Gated field entrance 50m SE of RoW, followed field bdy until due W of reservoir, then across arable field and did a circuit of the tank before going up on to it. Tank seems to have been built over the natural HP and is accessible due to fencing damaged in several places. | jonglew | 27/01/2017 |
6th hill of 7 today on a route from Dawlish to Countess Wear, climbing Dawlish hill, Cofton hill, Easter hill, Warboro Hill, Powderham park. I used the forest Track through Powderham plantation to take me to the Jct with the A379. I Took the lane to Kenn & had a pub lunch at the Ley Arms before continuing on fp up past church onto the Old Dawlish road.I Climbed over a gate and used curve in hedges to help
get me closer. Trod carefully over the crops and circled the reservoir on top. After retreating to the hedge I decided I had to climb it so returned ti do just that!! Top overlooks Car recovery firm But I Was not contested. Descent by fp to Days Potties lane . | Dazingdale | 11/07/2016 |
Parked on Old Dawlish Road. Reservoir on top is now accessible via broken fence. | Poolton123 | 06/10/2015 |
