What a delightful top
I was visiting the nearby County Top and popped across here anyway just in case things change again. | DC11main | 19/01/2023 |
Came up here after bagging the Bristol County Top. The summit should be recognised as the hill fort and not the area near the trig. Saying it is man-made is a joke when it is an Iron Age fort. Hensbarrow Downs is a Marilyn and is a modern slag heap! | Dangerous Dave | 14/01/2022 |
Christmas day visit. Mist and drizzle no view. Via trig pillar from south up recently resurfaced steep path. | cjo | 25/12/2021 |
From lane to NW. Great view. | Wycombe Wanderer | 30/07/2020 |
Parked in a small layby at 59573 66657 and walked back down the hill a little, over a gate, along field margin and over a gate to Bristol HP then back to road and fp to Maes Knoll. Great views of Bristol. | clivevilla | 10/10/2018 |
Here for the trig point. TP:UK log:
Parked on the verge at N51° 23.170' W2° 34.379' then up to footpath at N51° 23.208' W2° 34.450'. Didn’t like the look of the gradient at all but really it isn’t that steep and you are soon on the top. Trig is in pasture opposite the obvious fort and some way from the PROW. Would have been a lovely peaceful walk but the nearby shooting range broke the calm of the area. | thejackrustles | 19/07/2018 |
Solo walk from Belluton on a freezing cold day. Slightly hazy so the visibility wasn't as good as hoped. Great hillfort though. Onwards to Stanton Drew. | thesweetcheat | 24/02/2018 |
Clutton to Whitchurch. | Smudge | 28/10/2017 |
1/2 (Maes Knoll/Oatfield Hill) | Fergalh | 06/10/2017 |
With my daughter and the dog, parked in housing estate to the north, using footpath passed farm with urban county top in, the path is not as on the map, across road to hill fort, not sure if the top is man made, being an entrance to hill fort. Went on to trig point then back down. | Walkingthedog | 27/12/2016 |
Parked by T junction to S. With DT on our way to the U County Boundary. Then onto watch BW at BR in Div 3. | CJM | 17/08/2016 |
From T junction to the south to the trig and then over to the prominent summit. Followed on to the Unitary top. With CJM. | bolton | 17/08/2016 |
Fifth hill fort in two days. | ngthack | 26/07/2016 |
