The Hart Fell heart-shaped horseshoe to White Coomb. Started at Blackhope, up to Swatte Fell then Hart Fell, Under Saddle Yoke & White Coomb then back to the start. Included the Donald tops en route during the long, tough and often pathless hike but it was still a grand day out with good views.Chris Mac22/09/2018

Dropped down from Hart Fell. Very strong wind coming up from cliffs.derekblackburn29/04/2011
Day 2 of a solo stay in Moffat. Parked just to W of bridge at 159115 & then walked along the road a short distance past Carrifran to the gate. The track was a bit overgrown & a way had to be forced over to the wall running steeply straight up Carrifran Gans. A fairly brutal ascent (which was descended 3 years later after Martin66's last Donald - worse), but once you're up the going is easy. Then on to White Coomb & round over Firthope Rig following the boundary, before veering S to take in the fine pair of Saddle Yoke & Under Saddle Yoke. Then bck to the main circuit for an out & back to Cape Law & Din Law, then back to the boundary over Hartfell Rig & on to Hart Fell. Headed S along the cliff edges over Falcon Craig, Swatte Fell & Nether Coomb Craig. Finished at Capplegill farm & then a 2km walk back along the road. Warm & sunny round & a good way to do these hills.NotReallyABagger01/09/2010

from Undersaddle. Down and across mixed moorland on very rough moorland for 1 1/2 miles and an hour of slog, contouring around a saucer shaped dip, avoiding steep drops to W to a fence. Easy going over Hartland Rig to Hart Fell, first here in 1993,16 years to the day! Good views. Criffel, Broad Law. Passed 3 men going up as I descended. Good views of crags to east of Black Hope valley. Top at 13.00. to Swatte.arranc13/09/2009

After attending Fell and Rockclimbing Club dinner at Shap Wells Hotel the day before. Solo. Began at the start of the path to Hartfell Spa. Walked along the path marked by posts, signposted as public right of way to Hartfell Spa. I climbed up the ravine beyond – rough and loose with steep sides. I ascended by Arthur’s Seat to fence on summit plateau of Hart Fell. I followed the fence to the summit – trig point enclosed by cairn/shelter. I went to the top above Falcon Crag, the top above Nether Combe Craig. There is a small cairn near a steep drop to the north. Returned over Swatte Fell. There is a cairn close to the west side of a stone dyke. Note added 2016: Reference to DBIH indicates the cairn is not the highest point.pwbellarby07/11/1993
