Having done a huge cycle that day, Fred and I walked up Stickle Ghyll in the dark and camped just on the bank of Stickle Tarn. The next moning, we scrambled up Jack's Rake/Pavey Ark to the edge just under Thunacar Knott. We then ambled back down to all the way to New Hotel for breakfast before the long dive to Bristol via Manchester to collect Bethany on our way to Devon! | ByronHaywood | 29/08/2018 |

After completing all the 500m hills two years ago this one was added to the list. This is therefore a recompletion! Path contouring the hill from Pike Howe to Stickle Tarn. Dam and stepping stones make the outlet crossing quite easy. Thence, 5 minutes to the top. | moorsman | 07/04/2017 |

Had recently been bitten by the scrambling/ climbing bug. Scrambles in the Lakes (RB Evans)1st edition has two routes up Tarn Crag. With Tony B on a 3 day scrambling weekend. First scrambled up Mill Gill (Grade I) (Aka Stickle Gill) then backed off the nasty looking wet awkward start to The Groove(Grade 3) and scrambled up the easy line of The Spur (Grade 2) which could be varied at will, and led to the summit. | Chris Pearson | 16/03/1986 |
From New DG, did easy winter climb on crag below, over summit, walked across frozen Stickle Tarn then up Pavey via Stoat's Crack (boots, rucksack, ropes etc). Several visits since, most recent 15/05/2005. | Aye Jimmy | 29/01/1977 |
