I visited the summit as part of a day exploring the old quarries on a walk from Llanfairfechan. I therefore visited the higher manmade bank summit and this summit, a harder approach but avoided the working quarry, not that there was anyone about. A beautiful coastal view over Penmaenmawr and the Great Orme.meltdiceburg23/12/2023

From decent parking at end of lane at 699747, up stone track to quarry barrier at 703751 - Through barrier & straight ahead, turned right & just from just before the flat-roofed office made way across quarry to start of summit track - NW up track for 500m or so & then carefully between safety fence & edge of quarry to summit. Done on a Sunday & place deserted.gerrybowes04/12/2022
With Mog on horrible windy day. Dropped off at SH699747 and visited Penmaen Mawr, Clip y Orsedd, Moel Hafodwen and Foel Lus. Picked up from Fairy Glen Hotel at Capelulo. Penmaen Mawr had a dramatic quarry side summit. People working so had to skirt around the working area. Lunched in a small hut to get out of the wind.Herbert Anchovy27/10/2021

Parked car at end of lane SH 69961 74717, took in Clip y Osedd, crossed the quarry wall at the stile at SH 71036 74955, then took quarry tracks to the top (quite dramatic). It was a Sunday and the quarry was deserted. I looped back to the higher man-made top (just in case) and took paths and a quarry track back to the start.DC11main20/09/2020
From Llanfairfechan via Clip yr Orsedd - fortunately no quarry workings on a Sunday!Geoff Briggs02/08/2020
On last piece of natural high ground besides huge , steep sided quarry excavations, all quiet today but apparently operational. Another ridge is slightly higher but is apparently a man made track edge. The descent down to the coastal path was interesting. We followed the conveyor belt down a steep slippy trackDenise 03/11/2019
Quarrying has left a fine little peak with shattered steep rock wall on its SW face. No sign of the precarious large boulder on the summit so fear gravity may have claimed it, and with it, it's Tump status. A fine and worthwhile excursion nonetheless. Quarry workings deserted on this Sunday afternoon. It's an impressive sight and worthy of a moments thought to comprehend the sheer quantity of rock removed from this mountain. Last of the day; now down to Penmaenmawr and the long walk back along the coast to Conwy.RichardM03/11/2019
1st on a 4 Tump round from Penmaenmawr with Adrian, climbing on a footpath at first through attractive woodland then from one of the quarries,an overgrown track before heading up direct to reach summit plateaux with large boulder perched precariously on the brink of the loose quarry edge! We headed off for Clip Y Orsedd..Dazingdale07/04/2019
Large parking layby SH 7087 7607. Followed ROW to summit area (approx.SH 707 754) - this path is very overgrown, especially after crossing quarry road - bracken, gorse, brambles and heather - but it gets the steepest bit climbed. Then pasture to quarry rim which has a protective fence along the exposed edge. Need to climb over this to reach the summit and its prominent small boulder. This ascent route to this area looks abandoned but there is a large track on the top which may still be in usecarole engel23/11/2018
Parked in Llanfairfechan then headed up disused inclines to NW of hill to disused quarry. Wouldn't recommend this unless you're happy on exposed ground. Visited W summit first and then circled the quarry to the S (it was already active at 7am) around to the summit. Descended via steep RoW to E.Wheelsy31/05/2018
From NE, Penmaenan village, RoW initially then straight up to summit, passing interesting old buildings. Met a couple near summit, presumably locals out for a walk. Natural HP a small boulder on brink of cliff; manmade bank to SE a little higher. Followed crest SW then scrambled down to visit the higher but less prominent W summit, and down via the quarry road, as quarry deserted late Sun pm. Excellent little expedition. Strong W wind.RHW28/01/2018

Parked in Sychnant Pass. Started with Maen Esgob, went on to Moel Hafodwen, Clip y Orsedd then finished with Penmaenmawr via the quarry. There's foortpaths all way. There's lots of horses but they don't bother you if you don't bother them, as long as there's no foels. You can avoid them if you're nervous. It's 12 miles to do them all. Plus any smaller hills along the way: like Molfre. There's two high points that are the same height, according to strava so either one you can count. I've done the 370m one near the footpath.Skarletkblank
