Parked between Tillington and Upperton before heading out to Upperton Commnon, Hurston Creek hill and Red hill. A pleasant afternoon including an explore of Pheasant Copse | Buck | 23/10/2021 |
Petworth Hike | PhilipChaston | 02/04/2021 |
From the N over access land and unhindered access to high point lawn set in beech hedges. | RichardM | 01/04/2021 |
Parked in entrance to Colhook Industrial Estate - didn't want to get locked in by the automatic gate. South along road a short way before heading up through trees to summit. | PGCE | 12/01/2021 |
With solo; Easiest place to park is south side of Colhook Industrial Estate from where it is only 5 minutes up through the mixed (lots of holly) woodland to the summit which seems to be the enclosed upper lawn above the Tennis Court, fortunately shielded from view from Redhill house. | Ian Baines | 10/08/2019 |
Parked on verge at jct of track at A283 to fisheries/balloon landings, tried to follow tracks shown on 1/25K map, but the clearest tracks lead via the back of the little industrial estate, which would be a better place to park. Not worth doing except to bag- a walk from Ebernoe via the common would be satisfying, though- est about 2h instead of the 35 mins for today's bag. | pwheeler | 18/04/2019 |
From the small industrial estate to the N. 120m up through deciduous woodland. HP seems to be a lawn, the N edge is as high as anywhere, and can easily be accessed from the woods. | jonglew | 01/04/2019 |
Level summit, from NW, walk along main road from layby offset by BM on Greyhound Cott. Drizzly recompletion of W Sussex on way home from Ethiopia | RHW | 03/03/2019 |
Petworth circular. | Smudge | 11/01/2019 |
Revisited following day with the two whippets - Percy (old), & Ned (pup). Suspicious looks from gamekeepers who probably dont see many dog walkers / strangers around here. Hill now confirmed by Lidar as being higher than Hurston Creek Hill. Avoided the brambles this time by a longer route from N passing behind the oddly located small industrial estate. | Chris Pearson | 28/12/2018 |
Spotted this possible higher summit on the map so went to explore before it was confirmed by Lidar. Snagged a way through the brambles and trees ( acccess land) from main road to visit the possibly higher 91 m spot height summit to east of main road. open lawn - part shielded from adjacent Redhill Farm by beech hedge with tennis court beyond. Open hedgeline gives access from woodland. Then revisited usual summit and back to Balls Cross on fpaths.1 hr walk | Chris Pearson | 27/12/2018 |
